How many were clean then or now? #dirtydirtyrunners

...They were?..
An American literally won Olympic gold a mere hour or less before Chelimo got silver. Rupp had a silver in the 10k in the previous Olympics. It's also clear Chelimo doesn't count women, who have brought home some hardware as well in recent years.

Now that he is a silver medalist and one of the faces of American distance running, he is tested on an incredibly high basis compared to other athletes. He really wouldn't be able to get away with at this point. So to get a silver medal, then go back to the world championships and get another medal and maintain his level of fitness supports the indication that he is clean.
0/10
Way too obvious trolling. Naturally nobody bit.
Paul Chelimo Is Kenyan
Beginning of the end.
Do you think American kids who might take up running will be encouraged or discouraged from pursuing Olympic dreams by seeing their Olympic team middle and long distance teams consist of imported Kenyans?
Anyone who is discouraged by the thought of having to race Kenyans doesn't have the right stuff.

I don't think kids watch track on tv.
Also, Chelimo is a Kenyan and should not be running for the USA.
Chelimo is a Kenyan with an American passport. That's all that needs to be said.

Your quote in the Deadspin article is quite disrespectful. I will give you the benefit of the doubt of being mis-quoted, but Americans were medaling in distance races before you. And they will continue to do so after you. We're not embarrassed of our runners. Though watching you try to yank yourself past Farah and Edris was rather embarrassing.
Paul Chelimo said:Now the U.S. won’t be embarrassed, we won’t be lapped anymore. We don’t need people who quit when it gets hard.
It's fantastic that ADP and WCAP combined to make such a strong group.Scott Simmons has done a great job. The group is producing excellent results and elevating U.S. running. If they are a little cocky so what. The only way to answer that is with you legs.

First good point on this thread.

2011 - 14:03

2013 - 13:36
2014 -
2015 -
2016 - 13:03.90 (Olympic silver)
He had a 3:40 1500m PR in college and now can close in 52 off a hot pace.
A 20 second PR in 4 seasons?! Woah... what's next? You gonna tell me it's during his prime athletic years too?! NO WAY!!
Right. 13:23 was his PR going into the Olympics. Nothing suspicious at all about missing 2 years of racing and then becoming the #2 5k'er in the world, is there? He probably didn't race in 2014/2015 so he could naturally build up to this one race, like most professional runners. One thing you can't take away from Chelimo is his laser sharp focus.

You assume "the right stuff" is inherent and not something that can be developed over time.
I'm such a moron. I just realized how stupid I am.

Some of it is inherent, some of it can be developed over time.
We don’t need people who quit when it gets hard.
DAE Solinsky getting pushed off the track by some dudes that might have weighted 70lbs and DNFing back in 2011
I completely agree with this.I have met Bernard Lagat at a race where I saw him win.He is genuine and he is a good man.Chelimo looks really bad here because we have been able to experience Lagat.Keep in mind, as well. Meb was a track runner before becoming a marathoner. To date, there may not be many nicer people than Bernard and Meb.I don't like this for Chelimo. And, if this Chelimo is any relation to Richard Chelimo in the past, it looks worse.Runners liked Richard Chelimo. Not so much for Paul.

you are dealing with kids and they really think like that ............................
many adults do when it is too late and then project it onto kids .
if the system doesnt want americans then i am afraid kids
pick up on these things as do coaches and stop careing
all i say is thank goodness for salazar for willing to have faith in rupp
for the long run from very young age as this is the only way can be done
and not some import .
all the beautiful americans that had over past decade should say a big thank
you to him. and his knowledge of doping too as that was another key
ingredient that without was not possible when taking on iaaf and east africans
and there piece of shit traitorous coaches largely fake italian dirt
and systems they have set up , are self sustaining .
before nike and others willingly put a stop to it and brought in imports .
cant be having anymore rupps on world stage.
and believe rupp was warned about biological passport , if seen that report
and given up doping like before
but similarly farah is in same boat but has elite british backers
and can dope all day .
