No
She's crazy not to take advantage of the opportunity to jump ship!
You should jump ship too if you know what I mean
You must be a Kiwi ...
Haven't even left the United States where I was born, the country you sadly are disgrace to
- To bad you haven't made the opportunity to travel, then you would understand the wide opportunity gap between NZ and Kenya for someone like Masai.
Your buck goes much further in Kenya than in most western countries. Many expats choose to stay in Kenya because they know they can live a much better quality life if they're middle class in Kenya than if they're middle class in, say, the U.K. They're able to afford a house, with significant grounds (or even a small farm), a maid, cook, gardener, nanny and even a driver to chauffeur the kids and drop them off at school. They can spend weekends on some of the most beautiful beaches in the world with good weather and warm water all year round if gawking at wildlife at one of the dozens of safari parks isn't their thing. And food is always fresher, healthier and cheaper.
But if living in a cramped a apartment (as is the norm in European cities) with excellent transport systems that run on time is what you prefer, then Kenya is not for you.
- Truth ... well said.
Kenya would be an upgrade for this guy, anything would over the basement he is in

By design? You mean like they're not in love? They're getting married to get NZ a medal?
Ummm no.

- Not questioning their relationship, but their timing is great to allow her to wear the Kiwi singlet in Tokyo.
Nice bit of racial stereotyping. You are obviously not aware that its perfectly possible to live in a HOUSE (and one built to good standards too) with moors, beaches and mountains to run on literally on your doorstep. You can go from civilisation to thinking you are the only person in the world in many parts of Britain, Scandinavia, Germany and France (probably other countries that I'm not aware of) while having tracks and gyms a short distance away. Most people can also feed and clean up after themselves but its perfectly possible to employ a cleaner, albeit at minimum wage and not near slavery conditions. You are highly unlikely to be shot, raped or knifed or run off the road if driving to training. I do think its sad that if you have visited these countries, you have never bothered to get off the beaten track out of the cities and into the mountains or hills.
- I don't understand your comments.
- Magdalyne Masai has the opportunity to become New Zealand's greatest female athlete ever.
Marrying a New Zealander will not give her NZ citizenship by right. She will still have to go through the residency period. What the marriage will do is to give her an easier path to residency. After that it is up to her/them. That is assuming that she wants citizenship in the first place.
Maybe he is planning to try to run for Kenya.
This.
- I anticipate that NZ, a fellow Commonwealth state to Kenya, likely "fast-tracks" her request in time for Tokyo.
Masai will still struggle to become our best distance runner ever, however she is already faster than the national steeple record
The only struggle appears to be the legal immigration time period; otherwise, she'll begin to rewrite the Kiwi record books.
