have a few minutes to do some comments...
HHH- back to hammering I see. nice race
Birdwatcher- glad the Achilles is on the up and up. strong race
Chunky Vanilla- crushing it on those long runs with marathon pace at the end.
Laughlin- very big week. i don't remember how quickly you've made the mileage jump, but stay healthy. it looks like you're not adding crazy intensity, so that's good
CField- welcome to the thread, looking forward to following your training. i am planning to run the half in Houston.
hantph- glad your calf is back in business
RunnerGirl- good week. Glad you are feeling better. I'm planning to run Chicago, but I have another marathon lined up the same day upstate NY if the weather looks warm in Chicago. I'm not planning to run either if avg race temp is above ~55degrees F. I'll wait for better conditions
team1- sounds like a cool upcoming race schedule
Working Harder- knowing nothing about ultras, I still feel you are destined for greatness in this 100miler
Runningforfun- 4x2 miles @hmp, 90 seconds recovery. Or 6-8 miles continuous alternating 600m steady state and 1k at about 10k pace. The overall avg pace should work out to equal your goal half marathon pace. Those are 2 of my go to big half marathon workouts. Or 4 mile tempo, 4 miles @85%mp and another 4 mile tempo. Or 8 miles alternating miles at mp and hmp. Or like a 16 mile progression run with last 3-4 at goal pace
