Pewow-Solid week, good quality sessions in there plus the strength work, nice!
Martalus-Congrats on the 20 miler.
Smoove-Runnnig in Washington can be a blast. I went on a trip in high school and in order to let me run one of my teachers had to rent a bike and follow me around the mall. That was terrible, but since then I've enjoyed many solid runs in the capital.
Slo-nice work this week, 85miles coming off of food poisoning, tough.
Chucky-great stuff.That's a solid week of training.
Laughlin-nice work, 95 miles is no joke, keep it up.
RFF-Glad the quad is feeling better, little injury crap like that is frustrating. Hope its smooth sailing from here on out.
CField-welcome, nice week. What did the heart rate test tell you?
Outside-Dude, sorry to hear about the job, that sucks. Hope all is well beyond that. Great week of training though.
RRR-Congrats on the win even if you were happy with the time.
Thejeff-congrats on the 10k. Sorry the high schooler got you, missing out on $100 sucks, next time.
Hantph96-That week looks like my schedule during college some seasons. I spent so much time in the pool. Props to you for sticking with it, I don't have the mental fortitude to hop in the pool more than once a week these days if I'm injured, i just end up on a bike.
Runn3rgirl-nice week.I could use a massage myself. Nice speed session on Tuesday.
Working harder-my Achilles has flared this week as well, hope it feels better soon.
Team1-good luck at the 10knext week.
GTL-good week. Good progression runs.
Harrierstu-nice week, the steady 6.5 on 9/7was solid. Good work.
My buddy last week told me I was crazy for jumping my mileage so high in one week. Turns out he was right. It just took another 6 days for the consequences to come find me.

Comments: The evening before my wife and I had been out for dinner and as we were riding home Jessica saw this huge hill in front of us as we made a turn. I thought to myself, that looks terrible, I should do some hill repeats on it. Came back Tuesday morning, the hill was STEEP. I think my farming measured it at 20% grade. Anyway, repeats were slow, but tough as any Ive ever run.
W: 12mi, 1:25:07. Last run in Seattle before heading home. It's been raining ash here the past two days, but its still be nice weather for running.
T: AM 13.2 1:28, PM: 6.7, 48
F: 9mi trail run, 1:12:21. First sign of possible Achilles issues creeping in by the end of the run. With race tomorrow and slight twinge in the Achilles no evening run.

Comments: Ive got a 14k race next weekend in Cincinnati. Ive raced it twice, the first time I had no competition, the next time it was a battle royal for 8 miles, ended up running sub 5 pace the whole way and not breaking the guy until about a half mile to go. And all for a case of beer and pride. Anyway, I'm going back but haven't done anything race wise in a while so I decided to jump in this local 5k and shake off the rust. Was a handful of local guys who I recognized but one guy I didn't who was throwing down some very quick and aggressive strides before the race. I figured he'd be the one to watch. Anyway, went out hard from the gun and just gapped everyone. 4:41 first mile, 4:42 second mile, and 4:39 for mile 3. Felt very solid, was working, but not over reaching, which tells me I forgotten how to properally race a 5k. Being solo probably kept me from being able to shift into the next gear, but overall its a good sign of fitness. Ended up running 14:38, the course is flat as a pancake with only one 180 degree turn around half way. Other than that its smooth sailing with nice big turns that don't really mess up your rhythm. Anyway, got done, jogged a cool down, Achilles tightened up again and I nixed my second run for the day.
S: Rest day, no running. This was hard for me. I had a streak of 25 days going, which more most of you is no big deal, but if you've followed my training you know I usually take one day off per week. I was testing my limits and wanted to see if I was being overly cautious so I strung together 3 plus weeks with no rest. Well something finally started giving with the Achilles so I've given it two days complete rest and will start back today (Tuesday)with some light running. Hopefully its cleared up and I can progress through the week and be ready for my race Saturday.
