Do you take water on an easy 18-20 mile run? I usually don't but was wondering if there is any benefit.

Depends on the temperature outside.
I don't take water with me, but here in Paris there are drinking fountains along the quai de seine and the bois de Boulogne, where I run, so I always end up stopping once or maybe twice on very long runs.
What's your threshold? I would say yes if it's over 75?
More about humidity for me. It can be 60F but if it is humid enough, I'll need water.
That's a long time to be out running without drinking water. You can do it in ideal weather conditions, but it will take you longer to recover. Find a route that includes drinking fountains or run a 10 mile route twice and leave water where you started (at the mid-point) if you don't want to carry water with you.
I take water with me but don't allow myself to drink any of it.
It depends how hydrated you ate starting the run. I had always the discussion when I came to the Wednesday-ly 7m run with a CamelBag.
Only that I came by feet, adding to 12m in total, and had hardly drunken much during the afternoon.
Only if its hot, usually i just plan my run to pass a waterfountain or two instead though
My long runs are about 2 hours (but I can't cover 18 miles in that time any more). A couple of 10 oz bottles of water is enough for me even on hotter days, and I take them even if it's not that hot.
Where I run there are fountains in parks along the way and I get a drink if I need one. For 90 minutes I normally don't unless it's at least 35 degrees. If I'm going two hours I like to get a drink after 70-80 minutes and maybe another one a bit later. Needing water all the time is partly a mental hangup and partly a lack of practicing, but drink if you feel you need it.

As several people have said, it depends on the weather/time of the year.
If it's hot, I will do longer runs on a 5 mile loop where I can stash a bottle or a rail to trail where there is a convenience store at the 7 mile mark.
If it's warm, 2 hours is my threshold to bring water. I have a hand held half 750 ml bottle that I put about half juice and half water. Worked today on a warm 20 miler. I don't have any fuel gel, so the juice helps.
I take a little handheld water bottle with me. It weighs almost nothing to carry.
I ran into problems once, where the drinking fountains I planned on running past were all turned off. I was pretty far out on a hotter day with no water or money to buy a bottle.
Yes, but I hate to carry a bottle so I go out the night before and hide a water bottle in the bush, a cheap plastic one and then that way if somebody finds it and takes it, NBD.

Nothing says hobbyjogger like a camelbag. I'd rather pass out of dehydration than use one of those things.
My long runs will never get past 25km but any run thats 15km or longer i'll have my buddy follow on his bike with water if the temps are above 40. Its important to not die
I use an Amphipod carrier with a 20 ounce bottle and drink every 20 minutes. Compared to my younger days, when doing 22 miles without water was a sign of "toughness", drinking during long runs really hastens recovery IMHO.

Absolutely! If it's a cool fall day, 50 degrees or less, I can probably get by with no water on a 14-15 mile run (which is two hours for me). But I'll always drink at least one 16 oz bottle (bottles cached by the side of the road) and often two during a run of that length. If it's 70 degrees or more, two pints are a must and I will STILL lose four or five pounds. If I don't drink at that temperature, my HR rises and pace drops off. I feel the lack. No question.
