Would be nice if Nike could get their shit together so that us mortals can try them out. The Nike website doesn't list them anymore and I can't find even an outrageously-priced size 14 on eBay or elsewhere. Guess I'll just stick with the Lunaracers -- oh wait -- those seem to have been discontinued as well. WTF Nike.
Where was your thread when Hasay in the same shoes got buried at Peachtree, and New Balance and Adidas athletes finished ahead of her?
Actually, the race was a bad one for the shoe, because those times are weak as water. Wins don't mean anything ( for a shoe) when the times are terrible.
There was no improvement in rupp's time=fail

After wearing mine a few times, it's no longer a mystery how Rupp developed plantar fascitis earlier this year.

Agreed. Nike and it's fanboys love to hype the sh!t out of everything they make. Still zero proof these shoes are any faster than any other racing flats.
Will somebody please point to a Nike racing flat that's ideal for the 20k-marathon, because I can't find one anymore. They have an awful lot of crap shoes out there. I was excited about the mariah coming back and then read where it's "not really designed for racing but rather a fashion shoe."
Lunar tempo is sweet shoe, same as the racer but maybe a few grams heavier. But barely noticeable.
I ran Boston twice in them love them

I'm doubtful Rupp (and perhaps Hasay) are wearing the 4%, they likely have the pro-only Vapor Fly Elite. Unless someone got extreme close up it's tough to tell difference, but I'd bet on them using the Elite.
It's pretty obvious if the shoes are or aren't the Elite versions. The Elite's shape is so dramatic that it is an easy call.
Rupp was wearing a straight forward Vaporfly 4%.
I warmed up next to him at the 20k while he was doing drills and I started a row behind him. He had stock Vaporflys, no difference from retail. el segundo wrote:

Lab tested and raised no red flags vs Nike claims. Lower HR & leg muscle activity vs other flats. https://www.runnersworld.com/running-shoes/a-closer-look-at-nikes-newest-super-shoe

Lunartempo is discontinued too
I have some new..to sell if anyone wants them. New in box.
3 pairs..original tempos
orange, white, red....11s fit like 10.5 original tempos...
- also some sz. 11s new version
version 2...fiit more true to size.
Red pair and camo pair....
Also newest pair of racers (rainbow rio colors) worn once... 10.5
I'll sell any for $65
Yeah. That Air Mariah doesn't even look like that original.
Zoom Elite 9 if you want more cushioning. If less, stick with Streak LT. I ran 1/2s in them and barely survived. I am not even fast so if you're a fast, young & efficient, it should work.
You can still buy the Lunaracer, or Lunartempo on Amazon, eBay, Nike outlet stores and more. Just because Nike.com doesn't sell them, doesn't mean you are SOL. All it means is they're available elsewhere, often for cheaper. So, buy a few pairs and stock up.
I personally like the Zoom Rival 6..running warehouse sells it. Very nice shoe for the marathon distance.

The question worth knowing is who won the race last year or the year before that and what shoes were they wearing?

Two possibilities:
1) Have Superman head down to the equator and fly in the opposite direction of the earth's rotation to turn back time to 1980
OR
2) Have Dr. Emmett Brown fix his flux capacitor and hitch a ride back to 1980
AND
get a few pairs of these:

Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
