Well first of all I was in my 30s before I could reliably run that much. In my 20s I could only manage about 50-60 miles and did 17:22.
My training plan was actually as balanced as anything you would likely recommend. Most of us actually agree on what constitutes good training relative to volume.
So my current 17:45 ability at near 50 is sustained mediocrity?
I sounds like you are telling me I have no idea how to train and am simultaneously talented and devoid of talent.
Bottom line is that I'm still surprised Budd has slipped as much as she has.
