Has Adidas discontinued the takumi line in the US? I know that only the Sen has been available here, but it appears that even that is gone now, too.

Bump.
I heard that they were discontinued. It’s a shame, too, as I feel like the adios is too much shoe for anything shorter than 10 miles.
Yes, quite a while ago, actually. The seem to be following their strategy of discontinuing shoes if they are really good for running. I still miss the Adizero Pro. IMO they were the best running shoes Adidas ever made.

No they weren't.

I said IMO. You might have not noticed, and thought I meant that they were the best running shoes they made, period, and that everyone on Earth should feel that way. My bad for not spelling it out more clearly for people like you.

Personally I was always more fond of the adizero rocket, another great shoe that Adidas mysteriously discontinued.
More on topic, I really like the takumi sen, so hopefully Adidas at least releases a new model to replace it.

I liked the Rocket quite a bit, too - forgot about them!
Sen IS the best shoe ever! You can disagree with me but you're still wrong. Such a special shoe I use it for mileage workouts and races it fits amazing once the sole breaks in where the foot flexes.
I spoke to an Adidas rep about them and he said the Takumi Sen/Ren doesn't fit the U.S. market. He referenced waist size comparisons between Japanese and American runners as an example. He concluded we're more of a "Supernova market," and said the return rate is higher here because there's not enough shoe in the Sen/Ren for the "American-type runner."
I appreciated his honesty.
Aerobounce PR is the closest replacement. A new shoe with bounce foam, similar to the old adiprene. It's got a solid rubber sole, like the rocket. 7oz
Adidas has just released more colors of the Sen in Asia so just buy from Rakuten if you want them still.

Hmmm.... a shoe that is 30g heavier par for par and that is a trainer not even a racer.... and which is priced mid range. It is not even close to the Ren, let alone the Sen
Posting is challenging these days...

Reading between the lines: the average American runner is too fat for the Takumi Sen and so prefers the Supernova with all its cushioning to minimize the impact of one’s obesity.
Dammit, I want more Takumi Sens.
What the sen/ren's are is racing flat version of the cadence.
The Sen (and Ren) are both still available and in line outside of North America. Just ordered a pair through the UK.

What website do you use?
I just found them on Wiggle.co.uk but they were $160 (including shipping). I got mine for $72 at RunningWarehouse last year (on clearance with the clearance coupon on top of that, of course).
usually a discount code floating around. I bought all my takumis here for cheaper then they were ever available in the US.
