Does it even matter since the Garmin InReach has a fully supported web API that lets you easily spoof real time GPS? You are fully missing the point of why I became suspicious of Mimi after initially saying I think her run is legit.
I have been watching the position data of both ladies at several different points in time for at least the last 10 days. I am interested in how such events are documented, and also how legit they appear to be. The Sandy method (Pete's Gold Standard) is exceptionally good. Multiple methods of tracking. The more methods the harder to spoof (double Garmins, Strava, Photos, witness statements, random joiners during the run). Mimi's method is lacking, sorely so.
So, we have an "amateur" runner, running on a small budget, who is absolutely schooling the well-healed super "expert". The amateur is a PhD graduate. The expert is in trapped in middle school.
