Sorry to be pessimistic but the truth is there will always be questions about the first half of the run because of her team. We'll never know the truth.
You can make up your own mind. Mimi's run doesn't look legit to me. There are too many issues. Too much drama. Her health is of major concern. I don't trust one bit what her husband says about that.

Sandy is a metronome. It is easy to predict when she will reach the next 5 mile split.
And Mimi either is slowing down, or she took a longer break somewhere during the last split.

Here is what I sent to Mimi's email addresses 12 days ago:
I challenge Mimi and her team members to either release video showing Mimi performing an entire day's run for the days so far in the record attempt. If no such evidence exists, then I challenge Mimi, her team, and on site film crew to start film non-stop video of the entire runs and releasing them each day.
She probably can't even run for an hour.
There is absolutely no way she's running the miles they're reporting.
No wonder they didn't respond wrote:

It appears there has not be a solid hour of running since she crossed the halfway mark.
*has not BEEN

If I was her husband I'd be saying, "Dear you made a good effort but you're not looking good. You need to stop now, let's recover and go home. You've done enough." Honestly I would put a stop to it and not let her continue. Not a control freak, but not going to let her destroy herself. Being supportive is letting her know that she's done enough and needs to stop at this point.
You seem to know an awful lot about what is happening with Mimi. You must be there with her crew. There are a lot of knowitalls here that aren't there with Marina and have no experience with multi day runs but keep giving their expert advice.

Well, which member of her crew are you?

Yes, if I was there, it would be quite reassuring, as I'd know she's just laying around all day and not doing much of anything.
And you have no clue about the experience people have on here, as this is a running forum by the way.
If Strava data is all that's needed to get GWR in an American Crossing, then I predict that Scam will produce his/her own record crossing and submit it in due time just to make a point.

You do not have to have multi-day experience to be familiar with what injured runner looks like.

I've been going to multi events before you ever knew what they were.

I generally agree that Mimi's attempt is honest. Could Mimi be cheating in all of this? Quite possibly. But I'm not seeing strong evidence for it. I can see explanations for what's gone on so far. There's not been any particular requirement to overstretch the imagination as usually happens with cheats and scammers.
No evidence she is cheating?
- Deliberately turning off the tracker (making any surprise visits impossible)
- Failing to charge the tracker
- Lying about the tracker, claiming there was no coverage while the tracker company has made it clear that wasn't the issue
- Not uploading the data to Strava for many days
- Calling the cops when someone wants to check how you are doing
- Insisting you have to contact them before joining Mimi for a run
- Crazy cadence data (after RY everyone knows this is essential. A 100 dollar Garmin gives very reliable cadence but somehow Mimi is unable to provide this)
- Suddenly slowing way down when LRC started investigating her
Then the more circumstancial stuff
- Association with known scammers like Amy and RY
- Doing lots of unverifiable stunt runs
- Craving attention
- Calling yourself marvelous
- Being the subject of a future movie and a book

Unfortunately most of your points above are either made up, grossly exaggerated or just plain old pointless.
Try to come up with a genuine point and come back to us.

My gut feel is that Sandra would have a good shot in the 45-50 mile range. But no way in the 55 mile range that is way out of her league. As far as I know she did only one stage like race over 7 days.
