I'm about to be sophomore in high school and my last 800M race finished at 2:17 (when I was 14 as a freshman). This was my first ever 800M race since before I was a sprinter and did the 100M and 200M. However, I do think I have more potential in this event.
I really want to qualify for states one day and the time that I need to have for this is about 1:53. So do you think this is possible. I'd need to decrease my time 23 seconds. Is that too much?
Obviously, I'd need to take it step by step any hit 2:10, then 2:05 then 2 flat and so on... but this is my main goal.
If it is possible than which workouts should I do and how can I train to make this possible?
