He is 12 years old, these are some of the times he has ran:
A 2:15 800m at age 11.
A 4:40 1500m at age 11.
a 9:45 3000m XC at the national championships at age 12. The conditions were awful, it was bucketing with rain and was incredibly windy.
Do you think he has much potential? He trains twice a week.
What a child runs is meaningless to calculate if he has potential. I have seen awesome 11 years olds turn into terrible 13 year olds due to body changes or interest in other things.
Let him have fun and play every sport imaginable
I know one dude who still has regional records in multiple preteen categories but he's an accountant now. I don't think he did anything significant with his collegiate times.
