Last year my hsxc coach was alright, she was a track runner and had some experience although we only ran 30 mpw at most and towards the end of the season we only ran about 15 mpw. The new coach has no idea what the plan for this year is. The coach also ran track but it is her first year coaching. I ran 400+ miles this summer and currently the fastest on the team with a sub 18 5k. (our school has trash runners). But basically my questions are, should I do my own running on top of whatever the new coach puts us through (morning runs etc.)? And should I be worried that my weekly mileage is going down from 60 mpw to around 30 mpw? Will it make me slower during the season if so what should I do? Please help me out :(
