Good for Webb, this bodes quite well for the rest of his season.
all those people were in the same heat of the 5k? dang, thats alot
pretty sure webb is the man
agreed, especially considering there were a couple guys clearly capable of running mid 13:00. i think it was rather stupid to have so many slow runners in the race. the other heats had 36ish - some of those runners should have been moved. i don't really see how 14:45 is ever going to develop to the olympics.
I'll admit it first.
I said the race would be slow and tactical, a tune-up for Webb controlled by the humidity.
I guess I was wrong.
Though I'm sure someone somehow will bash this performance on here because people always do; this is a solid start with minimal competition. With the 27 last 200 I really think he probably could go somewhat faster.
This is an excellent sign....he really ran 27 for the last 200? He's probably in shape to run 1315-1325 right now. Definatly an encouraging start to the season and a glimps into his 5k future.
I said between 13:30-13:45 and he was at the quicker end of it. Props to me.
Monster run Alan, congrats!
obviously i wasn't there, but it's quite possible that there was some significant traffic for these guys to deal with over the last couple laps.
