Shame she didn't give it a go at the trials. I get that the hurdles is her event, but her flat speed is so incredibly strong. Would have beaten Felix in that final for sure.

Uh oh looks like someone forgot about her effortless 49.85 split.
In a high school race.
I think she would have gotten bronze or possibly even silver. Weird World Champs.
The high school age athletes, Ingebritsen, Duplantis and Chespol all finished out of the medals, but considering that Francis was a conservative, strength-based runner, I actually think Sydney would have had a chance. Maybe even in the hurdles.

Possibly she could have made it into the relay pool. I am a Sydney fan, but she is not a sub-50 400m sprinter, she ran several open 400s and has never gotten close to her relay split. The rounds would killed her, shutting it down for the season is what's best for her.
Shed be on my calendar if she was there. She is a good looking gal for sure.

I agree on everything. She might become a superior 400 runner than 400 hurdler but it's not there now.
It would have been sad looking like Cunningham in the high jump. Even the prodigies need more time.
Besides, relay splits and accompanying adrenaline are foolish to project to individual races. In the recent swimming world championships a veteran female swimmer well past her prime and who wasn't even chosen to compete in the open 100 swam a ridiculously fast 52.18, or something like that, while chasing American Mallory Comerford during a mixed relay split. She would have been over/undered at roughly 1.5 seconds higher in an individual race.
What do you mean sad looking like cunningham. She is 19, and this a great experience for her. There were no high expectations for her at all. She had a great year , and getting that WC experience under her belt is going to take her to the next level.
Having Sydney in would have been great as well....getting that WC experience at an early age makes them stronger later on down the rode.
