Kejelcha really made this loss for Mo, just as happened, I think, in Dubai last year(?), when Kejelcha enabled the defeat by going extremely hard on the penultimate lap. Tonight they went 54 seconds from 4400 to 4800, and then Kejelcha kept pushing until he was dead the last 100m, punishing Mo in trying to catch up on the backstretch, when Edris, who had been drafting and waiting then threw down the kick. Of course, Chelimo completed the box on Mo, but ultimately Kejelcha did move wide, allowing Mo to go through for silver. Team tactics, plus Chelimo, really paid off here. Chelimo did miss the tactics a bit by allowing a gap to appear and then may have pushed too hard that moment when he boxed Mo. But fantastic for him to get bronze.
Will Mo come back to race again on the track after marathon doesn't work? This race could help that happen. He "retires" from the track with bookend silvers around ten golds.
