Anyone have any recommendations when it comes to doubling in runs and lifting? I work throughout the day and have been running at lunch for whatever I can squeeze in, and then doubling back later in the day if I hadn't run in the morning.
Now I'm lifting again and I have to lift during lunch on lift days since that's the only time I have during the day so I've been running in the morning before work, but I'm wondering if given enough time to recover (next I'd be able to run after a lunch lift would be 4 and a half hours after, when work is done) would it be beneficial or worth it to run again at the end of the day? I read somewhere a while back that lifting should be done after workouts (can't do it immediately after actual workouts atm but hopefully in a couple months time) for maximal recovery, and that running AFTER lifting shuts down the recovery/benefits of the lifting session prematurely (obviously not completely but in essence it was made to my understanding that you wouldn't be getting the same stimulus in that scenario with lifting)
So what are the thoughts on something like running early before work, then lifting at lunch during the day, then coming back at the end of the day to run? This is just to help me get my mileage in and starting to go up again. Just trying to get an idea of how to double and lift on the same days (currently only doing 2 or 3 doubles a week)
