I don't see it. Semenya is as close to upset-proof as possible in these championships. It would probably require some type of stumble or poor racing luck. Semenya screws around in run of the mill races but she allows greater margin of victory in championship runs.
Regardless, very good job from Wilson and Lipsey in the semifinals, taking their coach's advice of going to the lead.
I felt bad for Brenda Martinez that she got stuck in a semi with two of the three dominant forces in this event. That shouldn't be allowed to happen. I assumed each semi would feature one of them. Somebody should have pushed the pace to allow both time qualifiers from the race but nobody did which meant Brenda needed 1-2 or nothing. It ended up nothing but I was impressed with Brenda's effort. She fell shy of Wambui by only a foot or so.
