I've been a fishing lodge manager for the last 3 years. For 3 months over summer I make approx. 25k & work crazy hours. For the other 9 months of the year I work 15-20 hours a week and make about 15-20k depending on my exact hours.
The job is ok but the flexibility is great. For the last 3 years I have travelled, trained and partied. But I recently turned 30 and definitely don't want to do this job (or be in this industry) forever. Also ave been clearly told that my wage will stay they same regardless of how long I stay.
So my goal now (and for the next 2 seasons) is to spend my 9 months off developing an in demand career skill and pivoting careers. Thing is I'm not sure what to focus on and what will be in demand a few years from now.
Suggestions would be amazing! My goal is to start this September (season ends in 2 weeks) and blog about it on letsrun.
