Coburn Gold PB by 5 secs from 32nd to 14th of all time.
Frerichs Silver PB by **16** secs from 206th of all time to 16th fastest of all time.
If this any other country did this it would raise eyebrows.

2 people who train with different coaches in 2 different places. NO.
two coaches who discovered mega-miles doesn't mean much in a race that's 9' long

This produced one of the great moments in track history. The hug at the end reminded me of Edwin Moses and Mike Shine 1976.
Don't both run pretty high mileage? Pretty sure Coburn does very solid long runs and I can't imagine Jerry wouldn't have his athletes running short...

Two coaches that are willing to pass up up Diamond League $$$ in order to win medals.
Emma runs 80+ miles per week. She's quoted saying it. Not sure on Frerichs.
You mad bro?

If that didn't make you proud to be an American, nothing will.....2 drug free hard working athletes winning....Even liberals must have felt some faint stirrings of pride for our country....
How do you know they're clean?
In all fairness to Courtney Frerichs, she made her big leap when she transferred from U of MO-KC to U of NM-ABQ. She went from about a 10:55+ 3K SC as a freshman to 9:24+ 3K SC as a senior.
Quigley keeps RIGHT with Frerichs in practice and is way faster. She would have won a medal as well.
Jenny Simpson if she had stuck with Steeple would probably be sub 9.
