Seriously whats going on?
Seriously whats going on?
Rudisha out for the count, Bolt barely medaling, "Yes a Secret Man" meddling in the 1500, Jager choking, Centro choking, Ayana ghosting all year then showing up in peak form anyways, Cragg medaling, Bosse winning big... What the heck??
None of my friends watch, seriously what is going on.
Now a Turkish guy winning the 200m over Wayde and makwala, wearing a Azerbaijan flag instead of a Turkish one
Weirdest of all was the hype toward a world record in the triple jump. What the heck was that based on? Because Taylor wanted it? When Powell was peaking and had the legendary Lewis with equal ability it made sense to hype the long jump in '91, and it happened. This was merely two guys who are the best in this era.
Frankly they don't deserve Edwards' record or even to be mentioned alongside him. Jonathan Edwards was a bullet train. He made it look like one jump with blurs in between, not plop plop plop. Too bad his 18.43 was slightly wind aided and didn't count.
It's obvious that there has been a crack down on doping. The best proof of this is that the nations with slipshod anti doping are suddenly able to compete. And the Americans and Jamaicans are so slow now.

Uh? Americans 1-2 in the men's 100, first in the women's, 1-3 in womens 400, 1-2 in 400h, 3rd in men's
I predicted BOSSE winning the 800. I also predict an upset in the 5k with MO NOT taking home GOLD and MIKHOU winning the 1500! MARK MY WORDS! THIS WILL ALL COME TRUE!!
The times a much slower than normal. Clean Americans are faster than clean Jamaicans.

Both Claye and Taylor have jumped over 18 meters, they are great and I really think Taylor has the POTENTIAL to surpass Edwards as the best and Sanayev as the greatest triple jumper of all time.
Unrelated to that, last night I was thinking about how if I had a venue I would bet money on Guliyev to medal and I'm angry I didn't

Makes sense, since they are ALL imported west Africans, and the USA has better facilities and nutrition.
Do you think USA is a race or something??

I agree. Taylor and Powell are both great, but it is extremely difficult to get a WR on the night you choose. All the NBC hype was totally out of line, and it got very old quickly.
One of these guys might someday get the WR, and it's okay to mention in passing that Competitor X is focusing his training and season on trying to get a record, but the hype today was ridiculous. Competitor X is just as likely to get a WR in any other meet.

American doping much more sophisticated so they are able to continue despite apparent crackdown, although still scaled back to some extent.
Maybe no one watching has noticed that it has been cold and rainy in London (what a shock!).
Goes a long way to explain the poor showings and slow times in many races.
Weather played a huge factor in the sprints, so there is nothing surprising about that. Sprinters don't run well in cold weather, and results are going to be all over the place.
Other than that, no big surprises. Faith won 1500m - she is the olympic champ.
Ayana won 10000m - no surprise there, even without running this season. Last thing any runner wants to do is face a FRESH Ayana.
Mo won 10000m
Steeple chase wasn't a surprise either. Evan won bronze in rio, and bronze here. HE just thought he could turn up the pace and bring it home
Matt has looked like crap all year long, and hasn't been in form.
Molly is a marathon runner now.
Actually, the WC was going really well until the Makwala situation happened. It started off with a great M10000, then a great W10000, followed by an awesome w1500m.....
Because taylor jumped 18.11 this year, and is the second farthest preformer ever, and was the world and olympic champion

Bolt lost. Warholm won the hurdles. Bosse the 800m with favourites struggling. Kenyan got lapped in 5k. Scot came 4th in marathon.
Fk it Bolt lost. That alone is enough.
Pretty sure Claye's PR is like 17.91, Pichardo has an 18m+ PR but wasn't competing (I think he's having some Cuba problems?).
But as stated, Taylor is the second farthest jumper ever, has jumped 18.11 this year and jumped 18.21 in the final in Beijing to come up with a very clutch win. He comes up big in big meets and is just a few cm from the WR. Made plenty of sense to hype it. They have to hype something - Muhammad is also a candidate to take down the WR in the 400H, could've hyped that more.
Bolt losing is a surprise to you? Bolt is old, and has been regressing for 2 years now. HE didn't come in as the favorite. After the heats, Coleman when in as the favorite, and people knew that gatlin was going to be strong because he beat coleman at USAs.
Even Jamaicans knew Bolt was done. They are more shocked by what happened to Thompson and blake than anything else.
A scott coming in 4th in the marathon? Do you know who that scott is and how good he is? He beat Mo earlier this year in Edinburgh( destroying Korir in the process), won a japanese half marathon in 60:00. I personally believe Hawkins is a stronger marathon runner than Rupp. He is only 25, and I believe he has 2:07 potential - CLEAN

I am in agreement that he's a PHENOMENAL runner but just a quick fact check, Korir beat Hawkins at Edinburgh
