Good job letsrun. I hope this works. It certainly would if salad bar were her coach.
I think the timeline has likely passed to appeal the ruling.
At first I thought this is desperate but if she's used to running based on cone position and in a race situation I can imagine this could make a difference.
Please contact the IAAF.

We aren't the only ones aware of it. Her people are aware of it. The timeline hasn't passed.
The cone should have been on top of the line. It wasn't. It was way farther inside as to where it should have been as compared to how little Quigley stepped on the line.
Since the people in London have been absolute sticklers on everything at these champs (norovirus quarantine), I hope they are are sticklers on themselves and admit they made a mistake.
I would love to see her get put through to the final! This seems like a fair and logical assessment of the situation. How would it be fair to DQ a runner based on strict rules, but then not uphold the same strictness to rules about the cone placement? That's absurd.
The line infraction was minuscule, esp considering how tightly boxed in she was, so this to me is a worthy defense. IAAF should put her in final.
Unfortunately in a lot of these situations big organizations like IAAF, USATF, AND UK Athletics have too big of an ego to admit and own up to their own mistakes so they don't do anything about it. I'm honestly surprised they made an exception for Makwala in the end.
The cone was clearly misplaced. Mater-a-fact if you go back to the photo you can clearly see that Quigley barely had any room to get through as the Kenyan athlete (like all Kenyans who have terrible steeple/water jump form) made her way to the inside cutting off Quigley. I wouldn't be surprised if that was part of the appeal, but since no actual contact was made, I'm guessing they won't reinstate her on those grounds.
Rojo or anyone for that matter, whats the timeline on her appeal? I thought it had to be done immediately after. Is it 24 hours after the race or can they reinstate right before the race?
You can clearly see her right arm moving towards the back of the Kenyans athletes back. If she didn't step on the line, she would've had to stutter step the next 3 or 4 steps, sit behind her and wait to pass on the next straight.
I don't know, maybe I'm the only one who think she should be reinstated on those grounds, but even watching it live, it looked like the Kenyan was closing in on her and she had to fight hard to get through. That's the first thing I thought when I saw it happen in real time. She definitely wasn't making a sharp line towards the white line.
What's the deal with using cones at the World Championships? Can they not put a rail in there when Steeplechase is being run?

When Isaac Makwala was ridiculously prevented from running, there was a ton of media coverage, even Twitter handles like #FreeMakwala. I suspect this played a role in the IAAF letting him back in.
Perhaps LetsRun should attempt a similar social media campaign for Quigley, since in this case she has even more grounds for reinstatement than Makwala, who had missed a heat already.
You can call it #ConeGate or #SteepleGate or something. Because race officials very clearly screwed up in this case.
She was clearly over the line.
This is running, there are rules.
This is a semi-final and determines who goes onto the next round.
Has the whole world gone crazy? Am I the only one here who gives a s**t about the rules?
Oh please. The only reason any cares is that it's a pretty white girl from the USA.
But she's not in NOP wrote:

do you care about the rule citing where the cone needs to be? don't you think the whole point of that rule is to prevent these situations?

jealousy doesn't look good on you
I had wondered about that when I first saw it. It's amazing how hard it seems to be to properly place cones. At least it's not as bad as local high school races where the cones end up being placed partly in the lanes, making them run farther.

She still isn't going out with you
My solution. Make her run a solo 3K steeple. If she is faster than the last time Qualifier. She can run.
