There are no men from Jamaica in the Men's 200m final. Yohan Blake could only muster a 20.50. What happened to all that depth, swag, sprint sweeps?
What up doe?

Drug testing finally caught up, sad time for the sport
Yohan Blake has other worldly performance personal bests:
100 m: 9.69 (Lausanne 2012)
200 m: 19.26 (Brussels 2011)
Today he could only run 20:50 for 200m????
That's 1.24 seconds slower which is massive!
My contest predictions have really taken a hit. Wish I knew they were gonna pull the plug on the doping program for this meet!
In the absence of PEDs after WADA cracked down on the Jamaican (non) drug-testing program, it seems that Yohan Blake has been reduced from "The Beast" to pretty darn close to "The Least." High school sprinters in the US ran faster times this year than Blake did in the 200M at the WCs. Bye, bye; nice to have known ya!

Same, at least I don't think other people knew. I still miss the old days.

Yeah, somebody must have closed down the black market in Jamaica. ðŸ˜
They are all off the boost and running back to their normal times almost. Blake 20. 5, weir 20. 6, bolt 9. 95. These are their baseline times prior to boosting up. Remember weir went from 20.6 to 19.8 in one year. My question is wth kinda formula were they taking to drop so much time that's impressive. To note I've seen guys go from 11. 2 to 10 flat taking only test and drag racing every day in practice.
I must say that the emergence of Bosse from France to step up and grab the gold in the 800m and the chap from Norway in the 400mh is refreshing and good for the sport.

Cause we are sure they're clean as whistles!

Because they're white?

Why bother asking? Some threads here could have been copied and pasted from Stormfront.

eh ???
i miss the good ole days as well
the good ole days were US sweeping all medals in 100/200/400
the good ole days are coming back in the 100 & can do so in the next few years in the 200 when Coleman/Lyles run it at majors

Give me juiced to the gills 19.3 over straight and boring 20.3. Why would a fan give a damn what PED they use?
NOW does every one believe that the Jamaicans were all juiced to the max?
Sheesh. It is so obvious.
First of all they all tested positive in the past decade, Yohan Blake, Nesta Carter, Asafa Powell (essentially their entire relay team).
I am 100% certain the Bolt tested positive in 2011. But the IAAF quietly dealt with it and punished him by telling him that he must false start in the 100m final. That would be his 'disqualification'. It was the most obvious false start I have ever seen:
He then ran and won the 200m sprint, in 19"4, 4 days later during the same championships. So he was suspended for 3 days ?
Does it sound logic to you ?

It's not just Jamaica, although their drop in results has been most noticeable (perhaps because their doping programme was the most obvious)
I think Athletics is on its arse and the plan is to spread the heroes of the sport across many nations, those with less of a tradition in the sport. That way, more countries are watching and rooting for their athlete without questioning and criticising the performances. Anyone turning on an athlete from Norway, Bahrain, Belgium, France etc will be seen as just a sour graper unable to cope with the fact that their home nation is no longer dominant.

I rest my case.
the 400m tie have dropped too - it's unreall
Bosse won. how can a sharing of medals be arranged.
I agree. The iaaf know the sport is really struggling in the USA and UK etc, so to increase TV appeal some golds from non traditional nations is great.
The cynic in me says it's the south of Africa turn to go unchecked. Look at the SA and Botswanan depth in mens 100-400m....
Above all though, I love seeing people run FAST.
How they do it, is not actually interesting to me.i want to see a sub 19 sec 200, sub 42.8 400m etc.... As a sport without faster times... There will need to personalities to pull it through.... Hence the need for a spread of champs
Face it much easier to find a gold medal runner for say Albania than it is to ever win a football world cup or a rugby world cup etc etc.
