So far it's 2 medals and the prospects are poor for many more. Did the yams lose their potency over the last winter?

It's obvious Yam power doesn't work in frigid London.
Dear WADA please test the Yamaican samples from 2008, something stinks to high heaven and it's not the ganja....
JAM is done.

What stinks is seeing the slow performance all around at these champs.

Not really. Take a look at the U-20 prospects. Jamaica wasn't as dominant as they appeared to be over the past few years: No great runners in the 400, not much in the women's hurdles or men's400 hurdles, and usually got slaughtered in all the relays but men's 4 x 1. Bolt and Pryce/Thompson made it look better than it was.
By contrast, in the 80s and 90s, Jamaicans Johnson, Christie and Bailey all won Olympics and WCs for other countries. JAM was exporting much of the world's sprinting talent back then.
I think a new cook is need for the yams as it's obvious without Meme, yams are just a starchy food that is near useless for sprinters. Too many former supermen are sputtering down the stretch because of the yam diet...
