There is no such thing as "quasi legal effect" in UK law.

No, CAS ruled that IAAF can't say Semenya isn't a woman because of her testosterone levels. That's entirely different.
The IAAF can say you aren't allowed in the final because you didn't run under 20.3 in the 200m. It's totally arbitrary and up to them

So many examples.
One would be that of lifeguards at swimming pools. It's not law, but if your pool doesn't have them and someone drowns then you will certainly be sued the shit out of for ignoring the guidelines set out by the experts (RLSS). More than be sued, you'll face corporate manslaughter charges and jail, because of failing to follow guidelines which are not law.
You will certainly lose. There is no point standing in court and saying "oh it's not law to have lifeguards so leave me alone". They will say you ignored the experts and are responsible.
Likewise you (IAAF) can't ignore the guidelines and specific recommendations by Public Health UK (the hotel didn't either) because if tons of athletes have to drop out due to sickness because the outbreak of illness wasn't contained then the IAAF will lose in court when they get sued.
the whole thing stinks ...........
and then runs no problem in 2 rounds of 200m
wonder if he did actually get sick or just nerves etc .
again absolute doper and did he flag the no grace testosterone test for champs previously or since or any other dirt.
and gave him bargain of leave the 400m alone
nd our choosen boy wayde , keep those powerful people backing him happy
and can do whatever in 200m
and all the added drama suits iaaf fine . more bums on seats.
Less than 24 hours after the Botswana athlete had been refused entry into the London Stadium when attempting to line up for the 400m final, he was handed a lifeline in the form of a 200m solo time trial.
“Keen to prove a point to those who had stripped him of his 400m dream, Makwala dropped immediately to the track on crossing the finish line, completed a rapid-fire set of push-ups and stood to attention with a salute.
The only way he could have made a greater statement would have been to stick two fingers up and cast them directly at those in charge of athletics’ governing body. If the norovirus had struck, it was not affecting him any more.â€
---------------------
so much for the BS from the IAAF on their certainty that the athlete was suffering most certainly from a serious communicable disease.
sue them. the pompous a***holes. and up the damages for the outrageous defense, the video evidence and so on, which is cherry picking to make a case against Mak. Despicable.
they are saying it is a miracle that Mac recovered from that bad virus attack.
no.
how about he was not suffering from something that affected him for 48 hours.
they just won't let up with their crap.
these docs are garbage.
leave your logic at door with track
it is social programming at its finest ......................like most sport now.
athletes from this country are fast etc etc when alot is dope and illussion
wayde and south africa have got the royals backing .
jamica demoted and job done there.
empire building at its finest .........................................
makwala is not innocent here
still a doper and actor
given a choice better than many get
could of been shamed as doper if refused .
iaaf and wada are marxist dogs .
never a straight answer or is that nasa .
The facts are, that all teams were advised on the 6th, that due to the norovirus outbreak, would athletes with vomiting and/or diarhea symptoms be quarantined for 48 hours. Makwala vomited in the callroom and was subject to a clinical diagnosis. A test would be fairly irrelevant, since the process time is roughly the same as the quarantine. To the doctor did he claim to have vomited for 18 hours (noted in the file). Had he withdrawn himself without adequate reason, would he not be eligible in any other events (the 400 or the 4x400. Rule 142.4
There is no cover up. There might be sick athletes, that competed prior to the team letter and the quarantine order on the 6th, and there might have been athletes that didn't disclose symptoms prior to competing, but in essence did IAAF react exactly as they said they would.

Ventolin, stop it.
What if Mak goes and blows ass all over the call room toilet area? Every other finalist that night is definitely going to pass through the call room, plus many heats. Most will go for a piss.
Do you have any clue how contagious noroviruses are? Entire cruise ships and hotels are taken out in days by these things. The infectious dynamics, like the diarrhea, are explosive. Dozens of athletes could easily be infected. The whole fvcking meet could be sunk. Then how would BBC and LetsRun be reporting on this? With great criticism and sanctimony toward the IAAF, that's how.
Assuming the meet couldn't be postponed 1-2 days, excluding probable cases for the transmissible period was the right call.
merritt without the testosterone ...............................note

Obviously what you heard was not what he said, but what you thought that he meant, which was wrong.

LOL. No, I heard him say that clearly in the interview and it was also shown on the subtitles. I have kept it on my Tivo box. He definitely said, "No, I'm not ok"
Many of us are not "okay" with the IAAF's ridiculous decision.
What it is about this that you don't understand.

Whoever is paying you to spew out and contaminate the public with your nonsensical BS should fire you immediately, and put you in quarantine for the rest of your life!
