Awesome race by Jenny. I feel sorry for Laura Muir though, to be beaten by a dude at the end for the bronze.

So she is beating dopers and men? Hmmmmm.
Anyone know what her last 800m was?
Holy fuuck!!! I don't know how she does it... How she places in fields like this is incredible!!!!! I thought Semenya was gonna catch her at the end, and that would have cause an UPROAR. Glad it didn't happen. What an amazing race!!!
Great run by Jenny. I feel bad for Hissan. She took it from a long way out. Very gutsy race on her part.
Say what you want about Simpson, but she gets it done when it comes to championship racing. Oly silver...WC gold, silver, bronze (?)....

Couldn't have said it better. Holy cow, what a race!
In yesterday's pre race thread, no one gave Jenny a chance, I guarantee the other competitors were thinking about her kick.
Simpson is the greatest ever American 1500 runner. She may not have the top end speed to get the AR, but she almost always get the absolute best out of herself when it counts.
When she won gold in Daegu, I swore I'd never say another negative thing about her on these boards (sorry about my pre-2011 comments) and I went out and bought a pair of New Balance shoes. It looks like I'll be buying another pair of New Balances.

She does it because she's one of the smartest middle distance runners in the history of the sport.
Of course she's got plenty of talent, works her tail off, is fully committed, and everything else. But more than any other one factor, is her racing skill and intelligence. She's simply second to none in that category.
Laura Muir dug her own grave by going to the front and then setting a cowerdice slow hesitant pace, (doesn't look she had anything planned) instead of running steady fast. Also Hassan- stupid race by her. 3:56 shape, and what does she do, run slow counting on her kick (with Semenya in the race). Eduards and that other brit on eurosport brought up Semenya's issue, but didn't have the balls to bring it in front of Semenya or Muir (they interviewed em both) ðŸ”ðŸ”ðŸ”ðŸ”ðŸ¤ðŸ¤ðŸ¤ðŸ¤
That move she made in her first heat with 70 to go was a sure sign she was going to medal. Didn't expect anything like that last 40 today though. Huge run.
Many women in the field have run 3:56 or better, that's not exactly dominant fitness.
Simpson is just lucky. Nothing more. She's in bad shape.
HELL YEAH JENNY!!!
