Hello runners,
I was looking for a gps watch, and saw a lot of watches with a hearth rate moniter. So I started wondering, what I could do with one?
My questions to you are:
What does your hearthrate tell about your workout?
And, is it worth the extra money?
I run 4 times a week (mostly interval training), and the days I don't run I do some push ups etc.
Thank you for reading
I personally feel that heart rate monitors are not necessary unless you're a physiology nerd or are on a strict heart rate-based training plan. However, one of the best reasons to use them is if you want to track your fitness improvements. It's awesome to see that your HR is lower than it was 2 weeks ago doing the same run at the same pace at the same temperature.
It should be noted that most heart rate monitors *inside* watches are not very accurate. I recommend buying a GPS watch and then buying a compatible chest strap heart rate monitor if you want true values.
