Looked completely chill and in control in that 4.02 heat. I think she'll win it all.

She has to turn around and run that tomorrow again. We shall see.

This is where the TDF guys bust out the T patch.

Only a woman can win a women's race.
I see what you did there.

Or a US Postal bus with all the goodies.
We don't know what her priorities are. It's impossible to watch that 1500 prelim today without understanding she lags or cruises almost at will. It was hilarious when the commentators briefly tried to pretend she was in some type of trouble of not advancing.
Tomorrow she could do the same thing, or decide that it helps her cause long term to falter in semi.
Genzebe greeted Semenya quickly and warmly after the race. Good for her. I have no doubt Caster is a good person even if I wish she weren't competing in these events. Normally I don't care for Genzebe.
No, if you think Castor is a woman you are mistaken. She is ruining women's track.
couldn't agree more!

The size of Semenya is unbelievable! From those track level rail cameras she dwarfs the other gals (you can really see it from that view as opposed to the normal stadium view). Her muscularity is amazing; the arms, shoulders, thighs, etc...she's more muscular than most of the men's 1500 competitors.
I agree, he had a great race.

C'mon man...they were all greeting & hugging Semenya after the race. Where's all this animosity toward Semenya from the other gals that so many people gripe about? You'd think there would be catcalls, gals walking away from her, refusing to shake hands, etc., - if these other competitors are really that upset with Semenya competing in the women's division. It looked like one big happy family out there to me.
She should have been satisfied with just ruining the 800. By getting greedy she'll just alienate that many more fans.
And how could someone say, "I'm sure she's a good person?" She may be. She may not be. I've known people for years before discovering that they weren't so nice.
That's not carnage.
Real carnage is when Caster visits the gynecologist.
Did anybody notice that Dutee Chand, finished second to last in her 100m heat in today with a very normal time of 12"07 ?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dutee_Chand
Dutee Chand has hyperandrogenism, she is running in a more power oriented event than Semenya yet she's not as competitive .
Can somebody tell me why her high T level does not give her an edge in a very anaerobic, power oriented event such as the 100m ?
It appears that the problem with Semenya, is not her condition, but rather the fact that she is competitive, people would obviously not care about her, if she didn't get results and got spanked by her more feminine opponents, as I have never seen in this board anybody complaining about Chand ( although I understand that Letsrun is not a sprint oriented board).
I don't enjoy seeing Semenya running, but this situation makes me laugh.

There's an important point missed. This isn't about the individual, Semenya. No doubt she should have a venue to compete in a formal, organized way under the iAAF.
Putting her in with genetically 'complete' women was a terrible policy choice which ultimately leads to the end of women's Athletics. If you don't think national federations are now very busy finding he next biologically similar Semenya, you are dreaming.
iAAF sees it as a win as completely unreal WRs will be made. Women lose.

Most of the women probably don't want to get involved in the political CAS game. They just race whoever is there, even if they think she shouldn't be there. I bet 95% of Semenya's competitors think it is unfair. They just are staying out of it and being friendly to her despite their views (which they should, as being nice and their views don't go hand in hand).
That said, go watch Semenya's 400m race. At the end, no competitor really responded well including Miller the Olympic champion... it looked like Miller threw some shade.
Caster. Wan yo and Niyonsaba are making all the other women better. Do you think that Wilson would have run 1:55.6 otherwise. What about Hassan's 1:56.8 this year? Or Bishop's 1:57.0?
Ok, you'll tell me that all these are very slow times to begin with, which belong more in the Paralympics than the Olympics, but this is the situation that we are facing. At least we can see slightly better competition on the women side as a result. Caster is making women racing faster. Now she will improve the 1500m. Nothing wrong with that. As we all know, the women category has always been arbitrary in the first place (nothing is binary), so look at it in a positive light.
Folks, it is actually very simple: The unfair advantage that Caster Semenya has can be safely taken away from him by surgically removing his endogenous testicles. That would bring his testosterone levels back down to completely normal levels. He has refused to do that.
The other way is to have him take medications that lower his testosterone levels. He was doing this. That is why his times slowed to about 2:00 for the 800m. But recently the IAAF discontinued that requirement. So he stopped taking those testosterone lowering meds. Now his testosterone levels are back up again and he is running 1:55.
This article explains this reversal of the rule:
https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2016/apr/17/caster-semenya-comeback-rio-olympics-gold
"the existing hyperandrogenism regulations law was suspended for two years – allowing any female athlete on testosterone‑suppressing medication to come off it."
So there you go. Semenya is no longer on those meds. As a result his testosterone levels are back up again. His previous 2:00 for the 800m would not even make the semi-finals. His 1:55 for the 800m won the Olympic gold medal. Such is the difference that this new IAAF rule has made for Semenya . . . and for Niyonsaba and Wambui.
Some numbers:
Those with 5-ARD hyperandrogenism have a significant advantage. To put things into perspective, normal testosterone range for men is 10 - 35 nmol/L (nanomole per liter), with an average in the low twenties, and for women it is 0.35 - 2.0 nmol/L, with an average of about 1.5.
The testosterone levels of athletes with 5-ARD is around 21 nmol/L.
If you surgically remove the endogenous testicles, a 5-ARD person would see their testosterone levels go completely down to normal. So less than 2.0 nmol/L.
** But if you lower your testosterone levels with medications, you can play around with the numbers. The IAAF has set an upper limit of 10 nmol/L. So you can just bring your T levels down from 21 nmol/L to say 8 nmol/L. Even though you still have T levels that are four times the level of the average woman, you are allowed so by the retarded IAAF rules!
This is a deeply tragic travesty of justice, in the name of bullshit political correctness.
To all you PC SJWs: Catching my drift? Or am I being obtuse?

This is one of the more outlandish claims I've heard regarding this whole situation. National federations are actively looking for such people to compete in athletics?
Consider how few such people are to begin with. Then consider how unlikely it is that any given person of any sex is athletically talented at running, remembering that the vast majority of "regular" men are far slower than Caster and other elite women. Then consider how few are the people who ever even consider competing in athletics. Then consider that intersex people might be even further inclined to avoid athletics for social or cultural reasons.
There is no reason to think that there will be a large uptick in supposedly intersex athletes in elite level women's running. At most, one or two here and there.
