Anyone try the Nike Zoom Speed Rival 6 and can share some thoughts.
I run solely in Nikes and these seem like a nice shoe for uptempo days.
I'd love to hear opinions especially since this is priced well at $80.

It's my go to marathon racing flat. I wore them at CIM and Boston after owning the Speed Rival 4. They are well put together and a solid flat for uptempo days or for racing longer distances, especially if you want a little more shoe than the Streak 6.
Decent shoe indeed! But personally it has some fallacies.. the outsole is very thin, so it is not very durable, especially on asphalt! The structure of it is great though, so it has really good traction, so it can be used for cross country!
My biggest problem with the shoe however, is the upper! It does not in any way resemble for example streak 6 or the lunar series.. it is very wide, and not very snug. If you tighten the laces, it sits, but it doesn't have the same fit as other Nike shoes commonly have.
The cushioning is the same AS streak 6, so that'll hold up well
Thanks Nikeman.
My current shoe rotation is Vaporfly, Zoom Fly, Pegasus 34, Zoom Elite 9, and Flyknit Streak 6. Do you think the Zoom Speed Rival 6 are differentiated enough to fit in my rotation?
My Elites are wearing so I thought the Rivals could replace them when they die.
Yes. They're different enough. More cushioning and more support than the Zoom Elite. Substantial enough for long runs. I'd say that they are more durable than the Elites. Much softer and lighter than the Pegasus.
Thanks Nikeman. I think I'll give them a shot.
Always appreciate your feedback.
What are your thoughts on the Vaporfly and Zoom Fly? I think you had an IG post on the Zoom Fly but forget your conclusions.
Zoom Fly is a great shoe. I've only done a few shorter runs in them and haven't even tried to do any tempos or anything similar. The feedback that I've heard has been overwhelmingly positive.
I'm holding out on the 4% until maybe 2018. I want to hear some more feedback and I'm not really doing any longer races until then. Planning on the Houston Half in January and NYC Marathon in Nov.2018. That's where they'll really make a difference. In the meantime I have 6 pairs of Streak 6 to get me by. :)
Has anyone raced in the Nike Speed Racer 6?
I’m curious about speed rival 6 and speed racer as well. I love 4%, elite 9, and Pegasus 34. I’m not a huge fan of Zoom fly or streak 6 as to me, they feel little stiff and doesn’t have a smooth ride for me. Wondering if rival and racer are worth it.
I love them. Just raced an 8k in them today, but I've been using them for everything from 5k-pace workouts up to faster long runs. Personally I'd probably race anything from 5k to marathon in them, even though they're a bit 'more' shoe than I've typically used for shorter distances.
I'll give you my best stab at how they compare to those other shoes you mentioned.
4%: I've never used these, but the Rival will definitely be lower stack and more flexible, although they do have a 10mm drop and do feel a little 'forward-leaning'.
Elite: The Rivals feel a bit snappier to me. Rival doesn't have the forefoot Zoom, which I don't mind. Rival has a bit more drop than the Elite
Pegasus: I rotate the Peg 33 for easy days and the Rival for anything more focussed. They feel similar enough that my stride feels the same in these two shoes, but the Rival is significantly lighter and subjectively feels faster.
Zoom Fly: never used.
Streak: Tried them on but they didn't fit me at all - the upper and, strangely, the sole felt way too narrow. The Rivals are significantly wider in both respects. Similar fit to the Peg.
My only qualm with the Rival is that the outsole rubber is thin, and will probably only last me ~250 miles. I tend to strike well to the outside of my foot, so the soles don't wear evenly; if you've got a more evenly distributed landing you could get more out of them since the upper and midsole are both in very good shape at ~150 miles.
They're only $60 on runningwarehouse which for me is a no-brainer. If they really don't fit you you'll be able to tell right away.
Racer 6, anyone?

Why would they limit this flat to sizes 12 and under? They're bringing it from Japan that has an insignificant demand for size 13 in my LRS this is the first run of size that's out...
Has anyone ran in the Speed Racer 6?
Ive put about 70 miles in them.
They are a good shoe the width of the shoe with a tpu shank in the midfoot is a nice touch. It does have a hard rubber outsole but its very thin. Its not overly cushioned or firm just right I guess.
Pretty light to at 7oz in a size 9.
Decent shoe for the price.
I’m on my second pair and use them as trainers. Good for 500 miles or so. I prefer less shoe than some though. My marathon shoe is what we version of the Zoom Streak LT is the cheapest.

Try the Skechers GoMeb Speed 5.

Yes. They hurt my feet, but that doesn't mean they are bad shoes. Typical racing shoe fit at true to size; if you want a trainer-fit go up a half size.
I will sell you a pair for cheap if you want a 14 or 15.
