I can't see anything about parkruns. But who cares. She scammed over £1,500 in public donations for herself by saying it was a world record, and it isn't. It will never be passed as a record as missing data and short marathons.
Just another deluded attention seeking scammer.
This new phenomenon on stunt running is getting just a little irksome. It seems that all you need to do is come up with some random stunt run, generate a little activity on your social media profile and then sponsors will fall over themselves to offer you freebies and support.
Wouldn't it be great if these sponsors actually supported up-and-coming athletes or invested in developing more grass roots initiatives instead of throwing money at less than average runners with a social media following!
This is all starting to sound a bit bitter, let's give some credit where credit is due.
It appears like Nikki did actually do what she's said she's done, the Strava data is pretty good and includes an actual marathon race. Currently there's no reason to doubt it, we can wait and see if the evidence is of sufficient standard to get official recognition for the record.
The average 50 year old woman would struggle to cover 1650 miles without a full rest day at any speed, so in that respect I think she will be pretty inspirational to a lot of people. She's also gone out and spent two months doing something she enjoys
while promoting health and fitness which isn't something to be belittled.
She's raised money for a genuine charity along the way which is only a good thing. As for personal gain, I've no idea where this sum of £1,500 came from, but she's hardly going to retire off of it. If people want to support her adventure then what's the harm, people donate to far less worthy causes.
In terms of self promotion and the book then why not, if she can make a living doing something she enjoys then good for her as long as she's not misleading people.
I don't think Amy and Nikki should be directly compared.
I agree. Too often these boards swing into excessive Hero / Villain characterizations. It seems Nikki is guilty of the following:
1) Actually covering a long distance in a couple of months
2) Writing a book
3) Encouraging children and other people to be active
4) Raising money for charity
5) Asking people to help cover her costs
Regarding 5): How does Nikki compare with the millionaire baseball player who demands 10 bucks from a kid for an autograph?
So long as Nikki is upfront about where to donate for charity and where to donate for covering costs 5) is OK.

This should be splintered off from this thread and discussed further. A consensus of what needs to be done to satisfy LR doubters would be handy. If I wanted to do 69 marathons in 69 days - what data, etc would I need to make LR people happy and for everyone to accept my awesomeness?
I agree. Unfortunately I don't think it will be possible . Even if an approved list of GPS devices, cadence measurers and heart rate recorders was created people would still pick on the slightest inconsistency in the data, or delay in data upload, to scream cheater. Too often it is not the data that is judged but rather the personality and, in many cases, the nationality, of the runner that is judged.

I wouldn't personally. If they've got reasonable proof then I'm ok with it. Can't believe the level of analysis on the Sandra thread.
This sort of challenge is just not for me. If course even jogging a marathon every day you are doing well to avoid injury.

That was going through my mind when I wrote my comments. I stopped following the thread as it got so stupid.
There is no way this will be a world record. No, the Strava record is NOT complete.
Made out she was a world class runner going for a world record in order to claim over 1.5 grand for her own purse.
Then walks a few made up "marathons" and doesn't fully complete the 63, then pockets a tidy sum.
How the hell is that okay!
This is a stunt for her own personal gain, ie money and attention.
They even admit the data is insufficient and won't be a record!
They weren't saying that when she was calling up all the newspapers and tv studios bragging it was a world record!
I don't see any real difference between Amy and Nikki Love other than Nikki appears to have done more walking and actually has some data available, but it's incomplete so won't get the record.
Both have made money from this "world record attempt". Amy from setting up her own charity and taking a wage from it, and Nikki by requesting the public pay her.
Nikki has been given £1,618 from the public.
Both have got sponsors and free gear for their failed records.
Both have requested extensive publicity from the media saying they are breaking a record, giving the impression they are really special runners, when neither are.
Both have irritating boyfriends who are overbearing and gobby on social media and get aggressive when questioned about the failed stunt.
So basically both are pretty crap runners who failed getting a record who have made money from the stunt.
The only REAL difference is that we can discuss Amy, but not Nicola Love. Seven threads have been removed on her, yet Rojo has actually joined in a cheating thread encouraging someone who has stated they will cheat to get in Boston, telling them to sign up here with a fake e-mail.
He also encourages racist threads and threads where women are disrespected and even rape is joked about.
Pretty disgusting double standards.

So were another seven that got made re Sandra, just as she finished. . Because the mods just delete anything reported without checking it. They have restored it. Hope they have learned their lesson that trolls can try and get threads deleted and they need to CHECK reports and only delete abuse.
Now when are they going to restore the seven deleted Nikki Love threads and seven Robert CHEAT Plagman threads?
Why is is okay to have threads on the scammers like Amy and Rob Young, but not others??
Still waiting for the something special with idealfit.
Just worked out Nikki took longer than Sandra to run half the distance.

I wouldn't wait too long...there's nothing special about Amy and IdealFit are just using her social media presence to peddle their products to naïve fools who are influenced by other peoples lies.

Don't even say the word Amy in the same sentence as Sandra! The two cannot possibly be compared.
For a start there is zero proof Amy ran ANY marathons in 53 days.
The best we have seen is averaging 15 a day for 14 days on her recent vacation.
How do you compare that to Sandra's 3,000 miles in 53 days, LOL!

I asked Idealfit why they were sponsoring Amy and sent this thread. They can't even be bothered to open messages.

Not being funny, but how the hell is this a model?
It has the teeth of a horse and looks over 40 with all those wrinkles.
Most unattractive. Way too short to be a model too.

Now idea, she's not my idea of a model. That said, I suspect they're going for the average woman who does occasional fitness look...
