Today was 8 mi at 7:15, pushing a little, but not really, felt like I could’ve gone a while longer. Also, tomorrow is rest, monday is easy, with a VERY fast course Tuesday, but still a league meet.
Mileage this week was 35 ish.

i have one race left of the season, dont want to get ino details of my awful race today. good luck at your next race and @precalc_runner your 12 x 400 m workout looks really good keep it up! my iron is low too and my parents said ' that iron supplements are like doping' but meawhile everyone that i race against ferretin is up to 60 and mine is always between 11- 14 and one time 16 so yeah sorry for the rant aha
Dang that really sucks. Have you tried maybe eating more iron-y foods? I’m sure you have but, just try looking at other things that could help, even if it’s just a little bit. Also, thanks about the workout, I felt really good yesterday, hoping for a major PR sometime soon(like when we taper), only have 3 races left in the season. Good luck!
Yesterday was about 5 Miles at converaational pace and today was our dual meet at a fairly fast course, but there were 15 - 20 mph winds going on during our warm up and about 10 mph gusts during our race. Splits : 5:35 (straight into wind), 11:20 (5:45), 6:15 ish and 18:04. Pretty happy with my race, especially with accidentally going (way) too hard on Saturday. I have districts next Thursday so that’s the goal race for now and I’m hoping to hit 17:30 or under there, but we’ll see. I just need to have consistent miles (if my 3rd mile was 5:40, it would have been a 17:00 3 mile and a 17:30 5k, so I really need to work on that. Anyways, looking forward to this next race.
Yesterday was 5.5 ish mi easy and today was a 200m workout to start our taper for districts and state:
5x200 @ 29 w/ 1 min rests
3 min rest
5x200 @29 w/ 1 min rest
So I got through 7, but I was just having an off day and felt sick and dehydrated, so my coach had me stop and start the cooldown early. Definitely feel like a mid distance runner after this workout, and honestly, I’m ready for track, haha, but I’m still pretty focused on districts and state, just have a lot of free time to think. Anyways, tomorrow is probably an easy 5 or so and Saturday is around 8 or 9. Thanks for reading!
Sorry about the username, mine isn’t working, but I’m Precalc_Runner
Sorry for such a late post! Friday was 3 mi easy, Saturday my knee started hurting for some reason, I think it has to do with over extending during the 200s, and I went about 4 Miles, and today I did 4 Miles with a 1.5 mi warm up, 1.5 on track with jog turns and stride the straights and then cool down of a mile. I’m not too sure what it is, but the right side of my knee or like the top of my tibia bone or something (the little ball like bone right next to my knee, but a little down) really hurts when I run, but rolling out and icing has helped a lot. I’m really hoping it goes away by districts. Good luck to anyone who still has their season!
So Tuesday was just an easy 3 mi run and Wednesday was 1 mi warmup 1 mi jog turns, stride straights, and 1 mi cool down, nothing all out or anything. Today was districts and here’s how it went:
1 mi - low 5:20s
2 mi - low 11:40s
3 mi - mid 17:50s
5k - 18:26
Basically, it was a really bad race and I went out a little too hard, but nothing I couldn’t handle and I just felt like puking and my upper back cramped up and it just wasn’t good. I might be racing at state, but I might not, it’s up to my coach because I ran 7th man in varsity, but 2 JV runners beat me because of how bad I did and stuff, so yeah. Not really happy with today, but we’ll see.
Ran 5 - 6 mi around 7:30 to 8:00 pace today. Turns out I’m not running at state and I’ll be making a new thread after state for my track training. Thanks for reading, I’ll update after my team races at state!
Completely forgot about this, we won state! We’re currently at NXR waiting for our race, and sadly border clash only took individuals this year so the guys in my team didn’t make it. Thanks for reading, I’m not gonna add anymore on this thread so that’s it, haha.
I ended up getting only one goal! 55.8 400m, lol. I did run a 4:48 1600m and a 17:15 5k Senior year!
Correction, the 4:48 was Junior Year, the 5k was senior Year
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
