Hi I plan to do 30-40 mins of swimming as cross training instead of running. What kind of warmup should I do for this? I was thinking 1 mile warmup then stretching just like I do before any other run.
Please give input and thank you.

No
Finished the cross training session which took 1hr10min. Pretty efficient of my time considering that a normal run takes 1hr 45min from start to finish.

Idiot, it's not "efficient" to simply do less exercise.

I also did a 2 hr agility and weight session this morning so I'm not doing less exercise.

Nor are you being more efficient with your time, since you did a total of 3 hours today.

You're seriously worried about getting injured on an easy swim? Even if you were, it would be in the shoulders or back and running 1 mile would do absolutely nothing to prevent an injury.

I like how your undedicated self is making 3 hours of practice sound like a bad thing.

You need to warmup and stretch before to prevent overuse injuries.

Your uneducated self is trying to make 3 hours of practice instead of 1h45m sound like a "time efficient" think. Hope you find a job that doesn't involve math.

No you don't. But if you did, you would need to warm up the arms and shoulders before a swim, which you didn't.
