Ok so I am planning to take a college trip but my dad hates airplanes and wouldn't ever go on one. Any tips on college trips and travelling alone? This would also be my first plane ride which is bad to say but exciting at the same time. :)

Will you need a rental car? I think you have to be 21 to rent one.
If it's your first plane ride, go to the TSA site for tips on packing. You need travel size toothpaste, shampoo, shaving cream, etc and it must fit in a quart sized ziplock bag.
Pack a good snack to eat and drink before you go through the security line. I like to take an empty plastic bottle to fill at a water fountain after you get through security. Airports charge ridiculous prices for food and drinks.
Are these official college recruiting trips? I would contact the coaches, they would help arrange for travel and lodging, or staying with other athletes.
I did all of my recruiting trips out of state alone, though, I was more comfortable being on planes, and the coaches arranged for my pickup and drop-off at the airport, put me either with other athletes to stay with or in a hotel near the school, gave me meal passes, etc.
If this is just a normal college visit, contact the school's admissions and ask them. I'm sure they get situations like this all of the time. Many schools do official visit periods throughout the year and arrange mass pickups at the airport and all that jazz.
It can be a good idea to travel by yourself to these schools sometimes because it allows you to develop your own opinion on the places. Plus, by staying overnight you get a good feel for how the students and other athletes are which is invaluable.
It's just uncomfortable being outside your normal setting by yourself at first.
I will definitely look into that!
