Hello! I have been playing soccer since I was around 5 and running since I was around 9, and I enjoy them both greatly!!! I am going into 10th grade, and I don't know whether I should play soccer or do cross country this coming year. This past year I played soccer in the fall, hockey in the winter, and track in the spring. My times in track are 4:58 1500m, 10:35 3000m, and 7:15 2000m steeplechase. My 5k time is 18:58, but I don't run very often outside of track (as I should), and I could probably improve it. Should I do cross country instead of soccer? I enjoy running and soccer.
If I did soccer, I would probably do indoor track rather than hockey in the winter, but our indoor track program is bad. Also, I would probably make Varsity, but I'm not sure if my friends would, so I may not be with them anyway.
If I did cross country, I could do hockey in the winter, which my friends also do (and we would definitely be on the same team), but I am terrible at hockey and barely play, since I just started. XC could help improve my running by ensuring I run year round.
