So... obviously before moving forward with this I will ask an expert but just thought I'd see what the let's run faithful say.
So we are currently renting. For number of reasons - moving jobs, student loans etc despite being mid 30's - have very little saved up for buying a house. Have been putting 12% away in 401k so nice little nest egg there. Recently got a significant promotion at work and base salary is now 300k plus (I know just like everyone on letsrun).
Long story long (and I guess put aside whether you think we are due a housing market correction) but do you think home loans are out there where could get something with as low at 5-10% down (as assume can get savings up to 6 figures within a year).
Any thoughts?
