Alright, I've pretty much done everything to improve. No I have never doped and never will, but I've done everything besides that. I don't eat desserts, sweets, candy, etc. and have had a clean diet for almost 3 years now. I have a tried and tested body fat % of 6. I have ran 40+ miles each week for nearly a year, and I have recently been averaging around 50-55. I do 3 workouts a week. I go to bed at 9 pm, wake up at 4 AM and run. I also do doubles almost every day. Core 3-4 times a week, weights twice a week. I have no vitamin deficiencies and I'm what you would consider the ideal running physique, at 6'2'' and 145lbs. I'm 100% dedicated to running and I cannot seem to improve no matter what I do. No "break through." My father ran a 15:43 5k off of 10 miles a week max in the marines, and never really thought much of it. I'm struggling to run the times I need to, despite working twice as hard as everyone on my team. I'm not over training, I'm eating healthy, taking vitamins, running on a clockwork schedule day in and out. The state meet is on my birthday. You might be thinking, "well, you still have growing to do." You're correct, but regardless I don't improve. I run a 18:02 5k, and my teammates can run high 16s off of 20 miles a week. Should I just give up? I don't get it. What is missing?
