Me too! I like them. They are light but and also very responsive. They aren't as soft as your typical training shoe but that's what makes them awesome. They are great for tempos and speed workouts, but I like to take them out for easy mileage as well, like an 8 miler. Once I broke them in they were also very flexible, and in terms of looks they are beautiful. Definitely going to use them frequently.
I could go on all day. Thanks for posting this thread.
Have you tried the One 2.5?
I've been using the one 2.5 for like 9 straight pairs and really like them. The v3 looked kinda bulky to me on amazon, but then I looked at a picture of the 2.5 on amazon and they actually looked similar
Yeah the 2.5 is ~1 oz lighter but less durable. 9 straight pairs is awesome, too bad they might be gone soon. I can't decide if I like the 2.5 or V3 better.

How many miles did you get per pair of the 2.5s? There's a pretty good sale right now and was considering them. I love my Torin 2.5s
Is the sale on Amazon? I know you can get a pair of the One 2.5 for about $70. Same with the V3 too.
I am a competitive 5k runner who wears the 2.5s. (I've been wearing Altras for three years and haven't been close to an injury.) They flexible, flat, light and incredibley fast; however, I only get around 300 miles per pair. The payoff is worthwhile because the 2.5s serve as both a trainer and a flat. (Once one becomes accustomed to the Altra toe-box, it is impossible to wear tight mainstream flats.)
I love the 3.0s, but they are a different shoe--heavy and the overall feel is chuncky. They will last long longer and not retain stones, but I have no desire to race in them. My recommendation for anyone interested in Altras for speed is to try to find a pair of the 2.5s. (Amazon and EBay have some left.) The bouncy Escalante seems to be a more likely descendent of the 2.5s, but they too seem cumbersome for a short race. (The Escalante runs a 1/2 size smaller than the 2.5s) Look out for the Altra Vanish, a sub four ounce racing flat that will be out in February!
