How would you rank the collegiate cross country programs in Ohio? You can combine all divisions.

Why?
Shill for hits.
Nobody cares. Chances are you are a coach of one of the schools trying to create a buzz about yourself. We weren't born to LR yesterday

I like this question as a former runner in Ohio. Why the hate? I have no clue about the last few years as I haven't paid attention. Based off ability to recruit, name value, location, the best schools should be and typically where the bigger ones 10+ years ago:
Ohio State
Miami
Cincinnati
Kent State
Malone was pretty good for a few year stretch with some great high school recruits.
Mount Union, Ashland, Shawnee State, and ONU were all competitive for the most part.
What does it look like now?
Wow, that escalated quickly. I have seen a few threads asking the same question about other states, and I wanted to see what the opinion on Ohio schools was. I don't know much about the programs outside of D1, so I just wanted to see where everyone stood up to this point.
Looking at the last 4 years:
OHIO STATE (1)
When they show up (twice in four years), they win
MIAMI (3.8) (2,3,5,5)
AKRON (4) (1,1,2,12)
OHIO U (4) (3,4,5)
These MAC schools are interchangeable and should be called next best
CINCINNATI (5.7) (3,6,8)
MALONE (5.8) (2,3,7,11)
DAYTON (6.0) (2,6,6,10)
ASHLAND (6.8) (4,5,7,11)
These schools are to be mentioned BUT have a year that throws off the stats
CEDARVILLE (8.8) (4,8,11,12)
KENT STATE (9.7) (7,8,14)
WALSH (9.8) (6,9,9,15)
Officially second teir
JOHN CARROLL (12) (9,11,13,13)
MOUNT UNION (12) (9,10,15,15)
OBERLIN (14) (8,12,17,18)
Deserves a mention as DIII schools
Ohio Northern and Shawnee state not in the mix?
Sure
OHIO NORTHERN (12.5) (10,10,13,17)
CASE WESTERN (14) (12,13,14,18)
Not Shawnee though
SHAWNEE (18) (7,16,20,29)
Ohio State
Cincy
Dayton
Malone
Ohio Northern
Youngstown State
Ashland
Mount Union
Ohio U
Akron
For D3:
Mount Union
ONU
Otterbein
Ohio Wesleyan
John Carroll
Case
Wooster
Heidelberg
Baldwin Wallace
Last year's all Ohio result.
1 Ohio State
2 Dayton
3 Cincinnati
4 Miami (Ohio)
5 Ohio
6 Walsh
7 Ashland
8 Cedarville
9 Mount Union
10 Ohio Northern
11 Malone
12 Akron
13 Case Western
14 John Carroll
Outside of these results my opinion for current teams are
D1)- Ohio State....
Ohio State
Miami
Ohio
Dayton
YSU
Akron
Kent
D2)- Walsh has developed some good runners
Walsh
Cedarville
Ashland
Malone
D3) ** Mount has been building up for a few years.
Mount
ONU
JCU
CASE
I have been out of Ohio now for a few years and I must say, I never thought I would see the day that Walsh beat Malone. Things have certainly changed over the last 15 years.
#1 OHIO STATE
WHO CARES BEYOND THAT?
Ohio State being number one doesn't matter anyways. All the teams in Ohio are weak.
Yeah, OSU is super good!
