Incoming College Freshman. Have been having a good summer so far but have done a solid chunk of my training on the treadmill. I now lawns most days and running in 90 degree heat after or before a long day of work usually doesn't bode well for me so I've used the treadmill a lot. I've done all my treadmill runs at a .5% incline. I've done a 25 minute tempo at 5:20 pace, 40 minute at 5:40 pace, and 4x1 mile with 2 mins rest at 5:00/mile. I ran a half marathon race last week in 1:14:30.
My question/concern is if my treadmill miles and workouts would be the same or about the same as me doing them on the road and if my recent half marathon time would indicate this. I've actually grown accustomed to liking the treadmill and how I don't have to think about pace, I just can set it and hang on for the ride. Thoughts or advice? Thanks.
