For some reason I can't believe all the hype about the Vaporfly shoes, because it seems like the shoe is much too cushioned to provide enough energy return to your stride. Even with the carbon fiber plate. Whenever I run in something like a Hoka shoe compared to a 5-6 oz lightly cushioned racing flat, I feel like it is easier to maintain a faster pace for longer. Could a racing flat (or something like an Altra or Newton) help Kipchoge run faster?
