How fast could Conner mcgregor run a mile?
How fast could Conner mcgregor run a mile?
4:55 first try
4:40 shape
I think 4:35 right now with no training, but if he trained seriously probably 3:5x
5 flat. 4:10-4:15 with a specific 12 month training period.
Doubt he can break 5.
The guy trains anaerobically 95% of the time. Any respectable level of endurance training would probably be detrimental to his career but obviously the guy is in bitchin' shape. If we had time run a mile TT right now then I'd be very surprised if he was faster than 4:50, I'd also be just as surprised if he was slower than 5:50.
Probably around 5:15.
We will find out when he runs from Mayweather on August 26.

Why would he run from a guy who will do everything to not get hit by him? Don't get me wrong, Mayweather wins easily in a boxing match, but McGregor will not need to do any running.

I concur with this assessment.

He could probably go low 4 or just under if he trained but he gets paid way more money for fighting.
That being said having weight classes in fight sports makes them a joke. MacGreggor or Mayweather would get most likely get destroyed by heavyweight fighters in their sports so they are the equivalent of something like the world's best marathon runners weighing over 200lbs.
The weight class nonsense in fighting sports should be banned. It is depriving superior fighters of earning a decent living just because the sport wants to market weaker fighters and pay them money which they do not deserve based on their standing in the open divison of fighters. That's not right and hopefully Trump will sort out this nonsense. The original UFC with no weight divisions was a fairer form of contest.

Agree.
Dunno who this Conner guy is but Conor McGregor would have to train specifically for it to have any hope of breaking 5:00.

This. People on here are so out of tune with reality when it comes to the general population running. 0 chance he could run under 5. Id guess 5:15-5:20
After a decent amount of boxing, several months into running 30 to 50 mpw, I could run around 5:10. Probably 10% body fat then.
A little aerobic training Conor would go sub-5 pretty easily. I bet he could "fake" close to sub-5 now.

I agree with you that everyone over esitmates the general population, but conor mcgregor is not the general population. I knew basketball players much bigger and much less athletic than him who could run 5:20 with no training.
I say Mcgregor could run sub 5 with good pacing, but 5:10 give or take 5 seconds is probably most realistic. With a dedicated running training cycle the guy could probably run 4:30-4:40
Prolly 3 minutes or just under
5:45
He doesn't have the build of guy who could break 5:00. Whatever the case, he'll never outrun the fact that he's an obnoxious "boxertard."

Today-- 5:15 (he's probably bulky right now)
In a year if he were focused and motivated-- 4:20
___
A better question may be, how fast could Floyd Mayweather run a mile? I've seen some hype footage of Mayweather where he looks like a decent runner, but age may be against him.
