On a positive note, I do feel strength returning now that I've learned some focused strengthening exercises for the semi-tendinosis and gracilis, and I feel like I'm getting better mechanics back into my running gait as a result. None of the P.Ts or chiropractors gave me such exercises so I had to figure them out for myself. Good to see some info on A.D., but it seems we're still in the dark on how she's coming along with her return to racing.
Then your issue was in recovery and PT not in the surgery itself.
Multiple HS and collegiate football and basketball players in this area had ACL surgery using the hamstring technique and none have had any issues. All had excellent pre and rehab. The only ACL problem I saw was with a HS soccer player who had the pateller tendon technique. He used a different surgeon than the rest of the collegiate and high schoolers used.
