I'm looking for some advice on what to add to my training. I would love to break 90 min for a half marathon in mid October. I've been running consistently for two years. Was doing 3 days a week of roughly 25-30 miles at the most. One long run(12), tempo(8-10 total), and a hill workout (4-6). Over the last month and a half I've changed it up. Trying to log more miles and more days. As of this week I'll have 39 miles in. I've gotten rid of any speed work and hills training focusing on getting up the mileage without injury. I do one tempo run a week at about a 7 min pace for 5 miles and a 2m w/u,2m c/d. Occasionally I'll throw in miles at hm pace 650-700) in my long run. Is this the right angle on lowering my hm time. Higher mileage? All my runs besides tempo are at an 830 pace. Prs are as follows. All were done last fall.
5k 19:00
5 miles 33:13
Half marathon:136:03
Did a recent 5k in June at 19:25 and just did a 5 miler at 33:40 tough one.
