This true? Damn.
Here's a picture of the time.
Its been an eventful week for the Ingebritsen family, with older brother Henrik flagged in the latest Fancy Bears leak as 'likely doping'
Kid is running amazing times, I just hope he can make it last and not be another young flash-in-the-pan. Either he becomes the best distance runner of all time, or he burns out before he turns 20...or gets caught for doping, I'm not sure.

You left out the most likely option - he becomes solid, but not legendary. Think 3:30/13:00/potential medalist in a perfect race.
If true, this is an INSANE time from a 16-year-old debuting in the steeple. Not only would an 8:26 steeple probably be better than any American high schoolers could manage, it would put him in the mix to win NCAAs.
Is it safe to say he could run under 8:30 for the 2-mile? He closed in a very comfortable-looking 54 to finish off his 13:49.
Where would he rank all-time among American HS runners?
1500m: 3:39
Mile: 3:56
3k steeple: 8:26
5k: 13:49
XC: European Junior Champion

3rd behind Ryun and Lindgren.
This is the same time that Evan Jager ran in his debut...at age 23.
This may be the most shocking result for Jakob yet.

This. He definitely has talent for the steeple if he did that on his first try.
Would rank him 8th in the US. One second behind Cabral!!!!
European U20 record by 3 seconds... is he eligible to go to WC?
Qualified with this race. His father and coach has told that he will not be participating if he qualifies. However, norwegian media tells that he has second thoughts after the injury of his oldest brother, Henrik Ingebrigtsen. Jakob can be helpful for Filip Ingebrigtsen in London, he says.
I wonder if anyone knows how fast Aouita ran in his famous 3000m steeplechase run in 1987? I know he lost to Alessandro Lambruschini who finished 9th in the world championships that year in 8:24, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was slower than the time Jakob has just run at 16.

How would Jacob running the steeple help Filip in the 1500m? Jacob is nowhere near the 1500m standard.
I know he has standard in the steeple, but isn't there a minimum age rule?
Rooming and training with him.

8:21.92 - came almost to an stop at the last water jump
He's going to Worlds. Is too much money on the table. (Sponsors, media attention, etc)
Right now, he could be the most marketable Scandinavian athlete. (Counting the likes of Sarah Petersen, Angelica Bengtsson, Tero Pittkamaki, Anti Ruuskanen, and the same Henrik Ingebrigtsen)

What about Mondo?
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
Des Linden: "The entire sport" has changed since she first started running Boston.
Matt Choi was drinking beer halfway through the Boston Marathon
Ryan Eiler, 3rd American man at Boston, almost out of nowhere
