In a recent thread, a poster claimed that Obiri would obliterate Laura Muir.
Well, we'll see in London tomorrow!

Obliteration? It's hard to see that. Obiri just nipped her at the line in Eugene. From the 800 she just ran, it seems Muir is in pretty good shape.
I think the big difference is that everyone now knows that Muir's to be taken seriously. It will be interesting to see how (if at all) they respond.
Let's hope it's a good race.

The post said obliteration over 3000m, not a mile. The race tomorrow should be close.

I imagine that the race will be an attack on the British mile record which is, amazingly, still held by Zola Budd ( 4min 17 something).
Is the record going to go?

Yeah, you could be right. There have been so many Brits testing positive and appearing on doper lists recently.....oh wait...sorry my bad, that's Kenya.
But there was that official letter warning the British authorities that their athletes are impossible to test and keep hiding whenever testers come close.......damn it, I'm having a bad day here, that was Kenya again.

Yes- I agree. Since Obiri beat a British star, she MUST be doping.
Take a hike. The only list she is in is the records' books.
Who is more likely to be dirty, Froome, Wiggins, or Obiri.
Muir is great, a definite medal contender. But people like OP spoil it by pretending she's the best out there. You raise the expectations too high, and every result becomes a letdown. This was not a bad result, Obiri is just a cut above her.

If we're talking EPO or the like, you'd go with Obiri every day of the week.
Two grown men, arguing over two women they've never even met, and bickering over something that at the end of the day have no clue about. Just stop.

Talking about doping in general. Any illegal substance/methods.
Gives me such joy knowing some bigoted, bitter, crusty Brit dies inside a little every time a Kenyan wins something around the world ... which is often.
