I thought she was gonna catch Niyonsaba for a sec, but that was one hell of a run. Makes me wonder how Wilson would have run in this race. Definite medal threats for these training partners.

15 US women have now broken 1:58. Lipsey is now 6th fastest all time with a faster PR than training partner Ajee Wilson
1:56.40 1. Jearl Miles Clark
1:56.90 2. Mary Slaney
1:56.91 3. Kim Gallagher
1:57.04 4. Meredith Rainey- Valmon
1:57.34 5. Alysia Montano
1:57.38 6. Charlene Lipsey
1:57.67 7. Ajee Wilson
1:57.68 8. Molly Ludlow

Yes! I thought she was going to get her. Great run
Sad she still can't even compete with the dude
Going into the last lap Laura Muir was in last place by 10 meters and still finishes 5th with a PB.

Interesting race for her. Sitting in back and then picking of people isn't her usual style. I wonder what her tactics say about how she'll run the 1500 this year.
It looked like she had a bit more closing speed than last year. When she took off at the top of the back stretch, she just ran by the four in front of her. It looks like she lost ground on the curve from being so far outside and/or barely held of the women she'd passed.
what a doper, joins a doping training partner and goes from 2:01 - 1:57 in like 6 months.
Lipsey ran 1:59 last season.
tainted beef?

It it was an all women's field they would be potential 1-2 placers. Instead they will be 4-5 and get nothing for their efforts.
It would be interesting if Ajee and Lipsey are doping and if they get caught they say "until you kick the three men out of the race we will keep doping." That would be awesome.

The first time she ran under 2:00 was at the Millrose Game in February, where she ran 1:58.64.
FWIW, Laura Muir took almost 2 full seconds off her best time from last year.
Charlene is far from a doper. She's a tremendous talent coming out of HS in NY to LSU. Elliott did a decent job with her, but she finally thrived when she got
a) Closer to home
b) A coach that understands that mileage is necessary for 800m running.
In HS she showed tremendous range -- while she never ran a 400m officially, she clipped off 1:29 for 600m (putting her in 54-55 second potential), 2:05 for 800m, and 4:55 for a indoor mile. Charlene should've been much faster earlier, but KD, in the short period of time he was working with her, ruined her. She got out of a bad situation (and thankfully, Dennis got rid of KD) and found herself with Ajee and Derek - two people that clearly understand how to train at a world class level, not some clown show throwing up inspirational quotes on Instagram all day long.

Nope. That would be horrible, actually. Everybody has held it together for this long... by next year, hopefully CAS has reconsidered its decision on these women.

Yeah, that's kinda surprising. I really like her, as well as Lipsey (it sucks she can't get the indoor AR).

Charlene is literally 'not far from a doper.' Her training partner has tested positive. The Thompson group has one more positive test than the entire NOP, which is under FBI investigation.
Lipsey has improved 3-4% in the past 6 months. That is unheard of and unbelievable.
