Bears threatening professional runners? Fancy that!
Until the Bears get a strong, franchise-caliber quarterback, they're not a threat to anyone.
too many bears, not enought twinks!
Bears are terrifying when you encounter them alone.
I once came across an adult black bear on a run in Keene NY.
Alone, no one within earshot.
Coming face to face with a predator that has complete control over your fate is an experience I hope I never have to experience again, yet an experience our ancestors faced regularly.
Thank you civilization.
Skeptical of these facts.
Racist bears.

Make ALL Bears Great Again
Go bears!
They are roundly mocked and lampooned on a major running forum, how do you expect them to react.

LOL!!!! 10/10 for the obscure Colbert reference. Bears have, and always will be the #1 threat to America, apple pie, and Jesus.
....I miss the report. Maybe he'll run for office.
Agree 300%. We must do more to stop their vicious attacks. I recommend a 24 hr bear patrol.
I'm on the 24 hour beer payroll.

Marube, a student at the University of Maine at Farmington who finished third in the 2012 Maine Marathon and won the 2013 half-marathon, said he’d once encountered a leopard perched in a tree while alone in Africa — but the bears were scarier.
I'm from Kenya and wouldn't consider bears scarier than a leopard. Though in Kenya, he could have run into worse - lions or hyenas.

Was thinking the same thing....leopards are far more dangerous than bears. This guy sounds a bit nutty.
Fancy bears are the most dangerous.
