Anyone know if Jack Rader is running for UW?

Word on the street is that Jack Radar will run for Madison. Worried about his chances their, he is coming into that program with an injury history. Most 18 year old kids don't have the foresight to progress at their own pace, hopefully Jack can put the blinders on and grow without setbacks. So many Wisco hs greats have fallen into this trap in recent times, hoping Jack can break that trend. Best of luck.
Gessner to Syracuse rumor died this week. He will stay in Madison and be another 8:50 type roster guy.
Stop with the dumb talk about Finn, he is on the 2018 roster.

Thank goodness. Now the Badgers will certainly win nationals. McDonald and Hoare 1-2 and Gessner and Hacker top 10.

Don't forget that one of the top high school runners in the state passed up a bunch of scholarships from D1 schools so he could run for his hometown team, UW Oshkosh. With him I could see them moving into the top 5 of the state.
These two posts are beauties. Outside of the top 2 schools, what in the world were you thinking? Stevens Point at 3, Milwaukee ahead of Marquette, and Carthage making the top 10? You my friend are completely lost.
As for WIAC Genius, first off your name is a paradox, nobody who is a genius goes to a WIAC school.
Really? UW-Eau Claire has had two Rhodes Scholars since 2005.

Rhode Scholars are not based entirely on merit. “a Rhodes Scholar is selected from an institution which has not formerly supplied a successful applicant.” Congrats, you apply enough times and they give you one or two.

1.) You're from either Oshkosh or Point cause no one would put either of those schools in from of either of either of Schwamberger's squads unless they were on one of the teams.
2.) Are you talking about Men's or Women's teams? Your Men's picks would be bad, but it'd be like you just randomly listed schools if these are women's picks?

1.) It’s a men’s list
2.) Maybe you’d like to share your list
3.) You must be affiliated with Eau Claire to refute their place on my list
4.) Have you looked at the returning rosters? Maybe you can explain how EC has a better roster than UWO or SP this year
Anybody know more on this Joachim Weel Rosbo guy listed on the roster? He's 21, but listed as a freshman. His best times were mostly when he was 18. Just getting back into running or injured for a couple years?

It will be interesting to see who can fill out the scoring 5 this year behind the big two. Sounds like Hacker is on the comeback trail and if he's right he's likely #3. After that it could be anybody from Benji, Jacobs, Hirsch, Snider, Gessner or possibly Miehe.
From what I’ve heard he’s an exchange student who will only be there for this year. Unsure on whether he’s been competing though

I agree that Rosbo's times do not appear to be special. However, I sincerely doubt Mick would bring this guy in from Denmark without some upside. IAAF profile does not include cross country performances. My guess is that he is probably quite a bit more accomplished in cross country and will be in their top 5.
Commenting on another post, I think it's far too early to predict a national title out of this version of the badgers xc team. They will return to the national meet and be highly motivated since they will compete with home field advantage. They are not a shoe in for the top 10 much less podium or national title. Lets see how they progress through the season. Remember, health is a huge factor, especially at Madison where it's not a given.
What’s the latest word on the UWM job? They announced Corfed’s Retirement on the 9th, so have they done ANYTHING over the last 17-18 days? Had to have known for almost a month now, right? Saw the job wasn’t posted until the 18th. Anyone know anything?

Job Description
Minimum requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree
Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA regulations and rules.
Experience recruiting student athletes at a collegiate level.
Experience training student athletes at a collegiate level.
A minimum seven years of successful experience coaching cross country/track and field.
Preferred requirements:
A minimum of five years of successful experience coaching Cross Country/ Track and Field at a collegiate level.
Proven ability to establish good working relationships with student athletes, administrators, faculty, and staff.
Evidence of a strong commitment to student athlete welfare and diversity.
Evidence of Academic success in student athletes.
Demonstrated experience in public relations and participation of fund raising and development.
Evidence of leadership abilities.
Demonstrated experience managing budget
Demonstrated experience hiring staff.
The latest news on the position is that it's currently open, and it closes on August 8th. Reading between the lines, UWM is seeking a long tenured assistant. They don't require a master's degree or prior head coaching experience, but they do require a strangely lengthy career in the profession of 7 years of coaching (5 in college).
Qualified/Possible Candidates:
Matt Esche- Head Coach at Alabama Birmingham, ran at Waukesha West, but probably a little overqualified
Eric Kramer- Associate Head Coach at UW-Milwaukee, 6 years there, no xc experience
???Unknown AD connection???
???Top long-tenured WIAC assistants???
Overqualified/Uninterested Candidates:
Andrew Rock- Bethel University, Private school head coach, wife works there too, no xc background
Dave Ulrich- Over qualified, too much money
Mark Guthrie- Over qualified, too much money
Gavin Kennedy- Makes way more money at Madison
Any and all WIAC Head Coaches- Unlikely to leave better facility/living situations for same or lower pay, likely over qualified
Unqualified Candidates:
Thomas Breitbach- Not enough years of experience
Maverick Darling- Not enough years of experience
Chris Rombough- Not enough years of experience
Dawson Miller- Not enough years of experience
Dom Newman and other HS Coaches- No college coaching experience
The bottom line:
The requirement perimeters are so strangely specific that this job appears to be written for Eric Kramer or someone of similar experience. That said, the position is open for a 3 week period of time, which indicates they aren't completely satisfied with giving it to him right away and they are testing the waters. Whoever it is, this will be a first time head coach, which means this will be a low paying gig, figure something around $50k.

Side bar to this whole conversation— Will all the current athletes stay at UWM? The question is really more for younger guys like Tagliapietra, Sippy, Wenzel. They signed on to run for Corfeld, with him leaving, that doesn’t automatically mean the next coach can expect this full line up. Anyone transferring out? Would love to see a couple of those guys end up at wiac schools where they could actually hit their potential.

No one will jump because of apete leaving. They signed because a college education was offered to them for free and likely no one else was doing the same. Pete as a coach is widely regarded as awful even by current second to fourth year athletes while many past athletes will tell you the same. If you stay away from the Liberal Arts degrees UWM isnt all that bad.
Rombough had 1 year at U of M, 2 years at UW-River Falls, and 2 years at Mankato. I doubt he'd leave his current position, though. Seems to be building it up nicely.
Who has the best Top 20 in the WIAC? The worst? Not sure why some don't have one on their website. I bet UWL doesn't have their list public because they know it wouldn't be the top in the conference. #Panzies

This list is literally the most pointless thing I’ve ever seen. Comparing XC times without denoting what course they were on doesn’t make any sense.
