There is no way that the River Falls women are 7th. They have graduated pretty much their whole team. Learn about the WIAC before posting...

Marquette is not good but their men would beat 1/2 of the teams that you ranked ahead of them.
No more info on Gessner. He was probably trying to generate some hype. Staying put.
Gessner to Virginia Tech CONFIRMED. Announcement in a few days
He is staying. He must be changing by the minute.
He is paying $5k at Wisconsin. That would go to like $30k for him so it makes no sense to transfer.
wtf Stevens-Point and Platteville are both terrible.
You certainly have the right to your own opinion, but I'd be curious to your justification for saying the program that within the last 12 years or so that has produced Ryan Kliemenhagen, Tyler Sigl, Ian LaMere and currently Walker Rhynes and Zach Lee is terrible.

The current team is bad, not the program. All of those runners are studs. But, except for Lee, they've also all graduated. They graduate 4 of a top 7 that got 8th at a DIII regional. I'm sorry, but they will be pretty bad this year. Marquette should not be ranked below them.
Hey WIAC Genius, no they haven't. They graduated Fouts. They still return 4 of their top 5 in addition to adding talent. How about you learn about the WIAC before posting.
Alright I didn't realize you were taking about current teams. So what's the thought process behind Stevens Point? It looks as though they return 6 of there top 7 from last year including the top 5 from a regional team that was 7th.

coaches resume***
Gessner staying at Wisconsin. Badgers are projected to win Nationals with McDonald 2, Hoare 4, and Gessner 20th. Others will fill in the gaps.
Pete Corfield has apparently announced his retirment.

This shakes things up quite a bit. I’m assuming they go way outside for their hire but I’m not totally sure. Their staff wasn’t the biggest to begin with. They have Eric Kramer listed as Assistent Cross/Track coach on their website so maybe he gets the bump to head coach in both sports? Hopefully UWM doesn’t mess this up as this is a huge opportunity for a program like this
Most brilliant moment of coaching for Pete was signing the release form for John Simons.
Not your normal press release, this appears to have been in the works for a while. Let the speculation begin. Who are the front runners for this job?
Why is this thread so popular? Wisconsin is clearly crap at cross country these days as they haven’t qualified the last couple years. The rest only have success at baby nationals
He was actually one of the luckiest guys around. He was in the right place at the right time when hired and his performance was never adequately measured from 1989 to 2018 or else he wouldve been out a long time ago. For twenty-nine years he collected pay equivalent to $67,564.05 per year in the modern day for something at least a dozen or more people in the Milwaukee area could have better.
