Here I just thought this thread would be dedicated to what a drunk Finn Gessner is....
He’s setting all kinds of new pr’s for drinking. I’d say he should go pro as a beer miler, but he has the leg speed of a snail. I don’t even feel bad for him because he is such a douche. R.I.P. Finn’s Running career, stay in school buddy.
What is really going on with the big 3, Gessner, S Hirsch, and Hacker? I think Hacker is hurt but what the other 2?

Get out of your mom's basement, loser! This is made up nonsense. Kid is a major talent. Kid will prevail.

This is how to judge the sinking Badger Distance Program.

I’ve got news for you buddy, kids who are “a major talent” win conference championships and finish all-american as freshmen. Your boy Finn, is done bro. He ran 8:29 indoors. I know what your thinking, “he’s a long distance guy”. If he kept up that 3k pace for 5k it would still only be worth a 14:09. Wouldn’t even be a regional qualifier with that... quit projecting and rage return to your mothers basement.
Where'd you learn how to write, bro? Was it at UW-Stevens Point? UW-Whitewater?
Or even worse at Marquette, bro?
Maybe you learned at UWM because a freshman running only 8:29/14:09 has totally done better than you ever will, bro.
Soon you will be 40, cackling at your keyboard, hand on your stinky limp dick pondering where the time went bro? 15:55 in the 5000 happened so many years ago. You will always be a loser and slower than 14:09, bro.
Finn could stop running tomorrow and he'd still be a Wisconsin legend, bro.

^^This bad attitude is exactly why the Badger mens program is in the dumps.
Their roster is loaded but only a few guys are running up to their potential. It is almost shocking to puruse the roster to see names that I don’t recognize who ran 9 flat in HS but they have only run sparingly in college and the times are what you would expect out of 10 minute HS runners to achieve. I have always thought that 9 flat equates to 8 flat 3k. It at least gives you a barometer. The 8:50 guys run 7:50 and the 9:30 guys run 8:30. So Gessner is almost a minute behind. Nobody on the outside can quite figure out what is going on.

Finn was 4:12/8:47/14:39 and second at footlocker in high achool. He qualified for four national cross country meets but only ran three where he scored all american finishes each time. He also attends one of the top public institutions in the United States.
Please link us to your college bio and tfrrs profile. Linkedin would be great too! Show us how well YOU did in your career that enables you to speak down about a blue chip runner in high school. Looking forward to comparing!
This site would cease to exist if we were all required to be blue chip high schoolers. The old saying is that the best athletes make the worst coaches. So it doesn't take an elite runner to be able to analyze and comment on how other runners are performing. Gessner was one of the very top recruits last year and nobody will deny that. Badger fans are clearly disappointed that he is not performing better. Some were even probably hoping for a Cheserek type freshman year. Continuing to talk about how good he was in high school even makes the situation worse. If he had only run 9 minutes, people would be more willing to wait a year or two for him to break into the starting lineup.
Hmmm. Ever heard of Chris Solinsky? Or Jerry Schumacher? Or Tim Hacker? Or Matt Esche? Or Cathy Branta? Or Cindy Bremser? Also this site is basically a magnet for losers in their mom's basement.
The people who spew these kinds of things are typically the people who don't have any insight on what it means to be elite. Quarterbacking from your arm chair. It's because you don't have the talent. It's because you didn't go to a good school. It's because you have a terrible job. It's because you're not married and don't have a girlfriend. Nobody wants to reproduce with you! Get a life and quit picking on 19 year olds who have more going for them at their young age than you have ever had in your dismal life. As for Fins running career give it time he's adjusting like many freshmen do thank you.
Wow, how long did you spend writing this post? You really told me. The Badger arrogance never ceases to amaze me. Do you have any idea how many people you disrespected with that post? Proof that Badgers look down upon the rest of us. Also, nice sentiment with the personal attacks. Do you feel better about yourself now?
Gotta love it when people ask for personal qualifications on this site when they don't add theirs first. Why does it matter what I have run for 5k? What does that have to do with Finn Gessner? Also what in your eyes would qualify someone to make a comment on Finn? Do I need to be faster than him? Do I need to register my name and profile to this site, because I highly doubt your name is "you people!" or "hold the phone bro" Do I need to be faster than you for my point to be validated? Is that how this site works?
If it was all based on who is running the fastest, none of us would be allowed to post here.
But if you really want to know my pr's and resume, both of you can post your tfrrs page or your linkedin to show us how well you did that enables you to post on these boards. If you do that, I'll message you. I bet you won't.

The University of Wisconsin maintains a highly selective admission process and rigorous academic cycle. It is not arrogance as you suggest. Whereas the other schools in-state may reward students with short term memorization catered exams (where youre taught the answers not how to obtain the answers) and brownie points for basic attendance UW-Madison does in fact pride itself in demanding much more from its student body. An intro course at Madison may in fact be more difficult than upper level courses at smaller in state institutions (including Marquette) in the same subject area. Why? Because the student body represents the best of the best (of the best).
The University of Wisconsin is the highest level academic institution in Wisconsin. Top of the heirarchy and symbolically hoists the state flag to the rest of the country. There is not an argument here. It is the truth. So when you can run a mile in Badger shoes (eliminating 99.9% of posters here) you can hurl armchair comments critiquing the progress of others in said positions. For the record, I dont even think you could ride a bike in 8:47.
